Always the guys in the previous gens with the most to say sometimes. Don't forget the daily trolling threads about consumer reports or some garbage from a 1st or 2nd gen. Trolling for fun.

Bring back all production to the U.S. Running across the border to Exploit cheap labor in third world economies only benefits the fat cats at the top and ads no value to the consumer.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing de Baja California S. de RL de C.V
(TMMBC) is an automobile manufacturing plant in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The plant was established in 2002. The plant is a 350,000 sq ft (33,000 m2) building on a site of 700 acres, employing 700 people.[1] TMMBC is Toyota's first Automotive manufacturing Plant in Mexico and builds Tacoma pickup trucks and Tacoma truck beds. The plant was built for an annual capacity of 180,000 truck beds and 30,000 Tacoma pickup trucks. [2]

In January 2006, Toyota announced that the plant capacity would be expanded to produce 50,000 Tacoma pickup trucks, and 200,000 truck beds. The Tacoma truck beds are used for total Tacoma production.[3] As of January 2016, Toyota reports truck production capacity of 90,000, employing 1,100. [4]

TMMBC produces only V6 Double Cab versions of the Tacoma also provide Decks for TMMTX Tacomas.

In January 2017, Toyota wrote in a press release: Our manufacturing facilities in Baja, Mexico [...] support production at our San Antonio, Texas plant, where 3,300 team members produced over 230,000 Tundras and Tacomas in 2016.[5] Before, President-elect Donald Trump had written a Tweet “Toyota Motor said will build a new plant in Baja, Mexico, to build Corolla cars for U.S.,” “NO WAY! Build plant in U.S. or pay big border tax.”[6] In fact, Toyota has announced a new plant in Guanajuato, Mexico, in April 2015.[5]

I don't think we've got concensus here on whether TX or MX builds are more problematic. Mine was built in TX and has all the usual issues.

I don't dispute manufacturing elsewhere eliminated American jobs... but make sure you remember the role software and automation have played as well over the last 30 years. Don't get your hopes up too high.
