Sorry man I can't seem to find the thread again. However, if I remember correctly I don't think that thread had a lot of info. It didn't really have step by step instructions.

So How many people do this even if they don't lift it ?

i do think i have had it ,some times ,when pulling my camper, I now have 30K on the truck and yes i can grab the CV and it moves all over,do you think this is just something i should do as a want to keep the truck for 15 years / i hope.
also would not mind getting on the "list" if someone is willing to loan it and i pay shipping there and back or i have seen it for $20+$8 shipping and just sell it to the next in line..
would like some feeds back please.

Does anyone near Phoenix/ Scottsdale have these tools? And are you willing to let me borrow or help me with this? I’ve had the bushing since last December and have yet to install it but the vibes are really starting to bother me and it’s making me hate driving my truck

Just had this done. Should the cv shaft have some lateral movement to it? I can pull it in and out a bit. Passenger side does it to a little bit seems a bit more on the driver. No up down movement just a little back and forth.

Yes a little back and forth movement is normal.

    Fun facts...

I took mine in to the dealer to have them check out the truck (that's now loud AF after 5K on a nice 3" front/2" rear ICON 2.5/add-a-leaf lift and 33" tires in the front driver's side (popping, grinding, vibrating, groaning, goes away in 4WD) noise extravaganza) to find they couldn't replicate the customer's concerns. I probably f-ed up when I asked them to just go ahead and perform T-SB-0011-18 when they hear the orchestra of fun noises.

So, I've found a kind (recently banned @Duke & thanks to @D-Rock531) gentleman here in Tucson w/the tool & expertise to get the crappy bearing out and the bushing in.

I just don't get them...it's like the mechs are either too lazy or too busy to do warranty work that isn't a dire emergency.

The mech told me he didn't hear the noise I described (but was raining here too at the time ::eye-roll::) and suggested I just keep driving it that way and lower the compression on the front coilovers to relieve the CV angles. After giving him the "Oh FUCK that-look,", I asked him about the other issues (Entune reboot when initiating/receiving phone calls, clutch switch from noisy clutch TSB fix, and irritating 4WD switch not going from 4LO to 4HI on ground that's not level).

All in all it was a calm conversation (even though I was steaming) and he was helpful with regard to the other issues.

For your situational awareness, they charge 3 hours labor @ Desert Toyota of Tucson to install the ECGS bearing. I'm relatively certain between Me, D-Rock531 and Duke the job will get done in less than 3 hours on two 3rd Gen Tacos.

Cheers all! I love these trucks!!!

Hi all, I thought I was in the clear since my lift was 1.5' Billies/OME but looks like I have the same issue as others even with minimal lift. Does anyone know a shop in WA St. that will do this work?

I had a similar experience as others taking it the stealership. The mechanic didnt really hear the noise/vibration. Of course the day I had it in the noise/vibrations were minimal or non-existent :(.

I'm fine trying to tackle this outside of warranty, but wondering if any had has it done locally (Seattle Area).

    Thanks

Mule Expedition Outfitters in Issaquah will do the install. They have the bushings and seals in stock. They don't charge any more for the part than ECGS, so don't buy them yourself (they won't use customer supplies parts). They said it's a 2 hour job.

I'll probably use them too... may do it myself if I find the time.

Awesome! just scheduled an appt. FYI. the Bushing is the same price $60. About $300 total for install + parts. They are backlogged a few weeks. But really nice guy(s). Good luck! Now I have to work on return from ECGS :). Anyone looking needing one? I can ship to you. Or if you are local to Seattle. I can meet up.
