RPM Garage in Monrovia quoted me $200. I've had work from them done before. Good peeps.

Not sure if this is the rite place for this but I’m getting vibration after installing fox 2.5s and UCAs. Only between 15-25mph and it does NOT go away in 4hi. It does seem to be worst when it’s cold though, I’ve had a alignment done, I’ve torqued everything to spec. Could it still be the ecgs bushing just hiding from me? Maybe a wheel bearing?

From what you are explaining, I don't think the needle bearing is causing your issue. I didn't immediately get vibs when I installed my King and Camburg UCAs on stock leafs. But, I did immediately start noticing vibs once I installed my Icon RXT leaf pack. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need some shims to fix the vibs. I'm getting the ECGS bearing installed tomorrow not necessarily for the vibs I'm getting, but more so because I know it's going to need replacing eventually.

I just looked into this at Toyota of Vancouver (WA). They too sell the ECGS bushing, however, they won't replace it under warranty, they want $400. They said they would put in a new needle bearing under warranty but I declined because it wouldn't do any good. If Toyota dealers are stocking this part they obviously know it's a problem but Toyota is not letting them fix it under warranty? That's BS. Better yet, why don't they just fix the well known problem from the factory!

They would rather replace entire front differentials apparently.

Pretty sure there's either a recall or TSB for replacing the entire front diff due to vibrations related to the needle bearing.

I did mine a couple weeks ago. Wow! What a huge PIA getting the cv out. I tried all manner of prying, rotating, and pounding to get it out. Eventually the sledge hammer and steel cable trick was the only thing that did the job. The c clip was mangled, and it gouged the spider gear slightly on the way out. I replaced the c clip with a new one of course. Also changed the front diff fluid right away in case there was any metal bits floating around. Glad I did because the magnetic plug had a good amount of metal shavings on it. Truck is running great with the new ADS extended travel lift.

Any guys in stock Taco’s ever get this vibration? I had it in my 2nd Gen, so I am familiar with the vibe. It was lifted though. Every once in awhile I could swear I feel it in my 18, could be in my head though or the road it causing it.

Does anyone have the removal/install tool they would want to part with? Looks like I will be changing my bearing out shortly....

About to do a few more test to see if i need clamshell bushing... my vibrations were noticeable both before and after lift 2.5" Bilsteins front and SS 1.5" blocks on back, but maybe more so after.

Vibrations: can be felt coming through the steering wheel and seat/ console... they come in consistent wave like patterns every 5-10 seconds, more noticeably around 60-70 mph. feels like motor shuttering slightly but annoyingly because it comes and goes.
Tried turning off the AC thinking it may be it not sure i noticed much of a difference.
Based off the previous replies... sounds like this could be the culprit. What do y'all think?

    Couple of notes:
    1) Tires were balanced and aligned.
    2) i did not drop the differential yet, is it necessary with the slight lift i have?
    3) can any body recommend an experienced shop in Texas (central or DFW)?

Just installed my BP51 kit on my 3G, and get intermittent "pulsing" vibrations/slight grinding now, after alignment, but only while warming up and goes away in 4Hi. It seems like it the vibrate fades in, vibrates for 2-3 seconds, then fades out for 10 seconds when cruising between 10-30mph. It does seem to increase with speed, but just puzzling why the vibration is almost "harmonic"? No diff drop, and overall, my lift settled considerably with winch/bumper/sliders on, CV angles aren't too extreme.

I'm going to do the bushing ASAP, but curious if the "pulsing" is part of the normal symptoms or if there might be something else going on?

Hey so I have a 2018 trd sport 6 speed manual. I installed a 3 inch lift and noticed a vibration that happens for 1-2 seconds then stops for about 3 seconds it stays at this interval regardless of speed. It stop when I switch it to 4WD. My main concern is that I’m supposed to drive the truck across Canada from Edmonton Alberta to newfoundland. Roughly 6000 kms. Not sure if I am going to be able to get the bushing installed before I make the trip. Wondering if it would be fine to make the trip one way. Also going to have a motorcycle in the back (not sure if weight will make much of a difference) thanks for any help and suggestions in advance. Hoping it will be fine lol

yeah, why is that tool $45 bucks? its a threaded rod, piece of 1/4in sheet metal and a nut. Fuck, I might just make one myself. Would probably only cost $7 and 20min worth of work.

I did the install two weeks ago and it went as planned, cussing jammed fingers, dropped a hammer on my face while trying to get the axle out. Basically the usual issues as previously described in this thread. But it all went back together just fine.

I noticed now I'm leaking fluid from near the seal. And I do remember installing the seal all the way in. I guess I I didn't read the part about installing flush. So now I've ordered another seal and I'll be doing this all over again.

I encourage anyone with questions to read this whole thread while you're waiting for parts to arrive.

My only tip is when installing the CV axle, rotate the c clip so that the open end is facing down. And you can put a spot of grease on the clip to keep it centered on the shaft. Once you get that clip past the threshold it slides in easy using the hammer and screw driver method.
