Hey all!! I changed my front differential fluid on my 2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4X4 last weekend and this weekend I just looked underneath just to Make sure I have no leaks to be safe and I see I have a little oil coming out from around the upper fill plug and I might possibly have some leaking around where the front drive shaft goes in. I’m wondering if I used too much fluid (I filled it until it dribbled out and put the upper bolt back in and tightened it down) so now I’m paranoid that I have a leak possibly? Maybe?? I read that I’m supppsed to fill it until it lightly dripped out which is what I did but I also didn’t change the crush washer either so?? Any advice is apreciatted. Thx guys!!

Nah, you should be good to go. For a bit of piece of mind, pick up another crush washer and reinstall the fill bolt. More than likely, the crush washer you used was bad or the fill plug wasn't torqued to spec. At least it's the fill plug and not the drain plug, otherwise you'd be in for another 2ish qts of gear oil as well.

Filling it can be messy, wipe it clean and check later.
