So, who took the pics? You or the dealer?

The CV looks to be seated. They cleaned up the diff to show no leaking oil, but the oil pan has oil on it. I'm confused.

Edit: The frame, suspension, crossmember, and such show no splatter from a spinning CV slinging lube either. Just a weepy oil pan. Something is not right here.

If the CV actually popped out of the diff you would have noticed a lot of gear oil under your truck or wherever you normally park it. If the seal is bad you'll notice a slow leak where the axle goes in. Something doesn't sound right but I would just keep an eye on it and see if it comes back, if the seal is truly bad you'll notice a leak there sooner than later.

I find it amusing that they always go thru the effort to remove all fluids, seals, gaskets, etc. And when customer tells them no, i'll think about it, they put all the old, defective shit back together and everyone goes on their merry way. What a truly colossal waste of resources and time. Just offer the customer a discount and everyone move on. Anyone else think its back asswards?

"They think you hit something" versus actually hitting something are entirely different things. If there are no signs of you hitting something they should not be able to deny a warranty claim. Bring to another dealer or reach out to corporate.

wow, look at all of that surface rust. My 06 I sold didnt have nearly that much rust after being 13 years old and over 100K. Sorry, cant help you with the seal leak, I'm just blown away at the surface rust. I guess I'm lucky with where I live as regards to the rust.

I live in the midwest where we get plenty of snow, ice, salt and my 2017 has almost zero rust. I think OP just neglected to ever crawl under there to do any damage control

Gear oil (found in differentials and transfer case) has a very distinct smell. Are you familiar with that smell @Beast5150 ?

If you smelled something other than that, my bet is on a sloppy engine oil change last time it was done. Judging by the pics.

How does a CV axle come out? Is your truck lifted/leveled at all?

Same thing happened to me, I did take the truck off roading and hit some rocks. Took it to the dealer and the dealer covered it under warranty. I was still under 25k20200616_173724.jpg warranty for the car.

find another dealer if you can. 'thinking you hit something" with no proof or damage sounds like a BS excuse not to cover it.
