    hey guys,
I have a 2007 Access Cab 4x4. My driver's side door catch has ripped out of the door, but the attachment in the frame is still good.

I ordered a replacement part and was fiddling with fender washers to get the new catch wedged in there. However, when I close the door, the plunger of the new door catch now rubs against the window glass frame inside the door. AND what's worse, it seems like this was a previous problem because there is evidence of a LOT of rubbing there.

At this point, some custom nylon straps are looking pretty good.

Has anyone solved this in the past?

Thank you very much, this is so helpful. I was having trouble what the hell was going on. I'll do my research on this and report back!

    None.
Did something happen or was it just age & use?

It's usually caused by the wind blowing the door open. The metal is super weak.

That or some fat ass leaning against the open door.

One of the two will do it every time.

My window rolls down perfectly with no issues. Could it still be bent?

Possibly. Only way to know is to remove the inner door panel and look. The only reason I brought it us is from past history of others and you said this:

"However, when I close the door, the plunger of the new door catch now rubs against the window glass frame inside the door. AND what's worse, it seems like this was a previous problem because there is evidence of a LOT of rubbing there."
