Is there anyone else who is having a front driveline vibration between 15 and 25 MPH?? It doesn't matter if you are under power, coasting, in drive or neutral. At the Toyota dealer yesterday I was told there have been several complaints of the same issue. I did this because we were installing a 2 inch lift last night and I wanted to put a quick halt on the " It's because you installed a lift " response. With that being said, the lift compounded the problem a great deal which tells me it is in the CV shaft / joints. That is the only rotating assembly that had it's angle changed. It's good because I know where the problem is, bad because I'm not the only one and Toyota apparently doesn't want to fix it at this point.. Looking for a diff drop to at least get the problem back to the level it was at, which needs to be addressed as it is. Keep in mind, It only has 200 miles. Any other ideas or thought on this?? Thanks

diff drop will NOT fix the issue the only supposed known fix is to change out the needle bearing to the ECGS clamshell bushing but there are a bunch of threads about this issue already use the search function,.

I believe there is a toyota service bulletin on the 2015's and this issue, does the vibration go away when in 4wd? If so then maybe you can get the dealer to swap out the needle bearing.

    I have this issue to.

For me, I feel a small vibration in the steering wheel when decelerating, no matter if im braking or coasting. If im decelerating at or just under 25mph, i can feel a shimmy through what feels like 2nd and then 1st gear. It will also do this when i shift from D to N and just coast to a stop. Vib is still present in same mph range.

Ive noticed that the first drive in the morning, i feel a subtle vibration in the same mph range while accelerating. The deceleration vibration is more pronounced than the acceleration vibration, and the acceleration vibration seems to disappear once things warm up. But with the deceleration vibration, its always there. I can drive for two hours straight and its there ever time i pass through the 25 mph range.

Ive also noticed (in the mall parking lot where i can travel a steady 23-25mph and someone isnt up my ass) i can hit a sweet spot where the vibration is steady and i can keep it going.

My dealer told me they arnt really sure, but thought that maybe my tires were "cupping". Im not really buying into that after spending a few hours reading and watching vids on actual cupped tires, and im just not noticing the same wear or patterns. But they admitted they wernt quite sure, and at some point Toyota may issue a TSB for the issue once the trucks have been out for a bit and more complaints pour in.

Mine is an off road with about 1100 miles. In the process of learning about tire cupping, i ran across a few hints that the goodyear tires that come on the OR models are not the greatest and have a very hard time balancing. Is this true? No idea. Maybe thats part of the issue. But unbalanced tires creating a vibe that low in the mph range?

I have no idea whats causing this, but if it does it in N then doesnt that pretty much cut out the engine and tranny?

Oh yea, ill have to check again, but im almost positive it does it in 4WD as well. I need to check that again to be sure.

Does anyone have better quality tires on their truck and are still getting this vibration?

I couldn't not have explained my symptoms better myself, this is exactly what my truck does, 4x4 helps none, also curious about different tires.

start by moving the tires front to back see if it changes any, also find out if the dealer has a road force tire machine to balance them if not find a tire shop with one. enter your zip code here to locate a shop with one. http://www.gsp9700.com/search/findgsp9700.cfm

Personally I think im going to pick up some new tires anyways but depending on how long ill have to wait (money) i may give that a try.

Id still love to hear if anyone with an Off Road that has better quality aftermarket tires is having this vibrating issue.

Personally im leaning a bit more to something in the drive train, maybe minus the engine or tranny, but dont want to rule anything out, ive been surprised before. But still, cupping at a few hundred miles or less (when i really noticed it)? And/Or vibrations at 25 mph from unbalanced tires? And 90% of the time only during deceleration?

I ordered the "Off Road" version but I think Toyota sent me the "Beach Boys" version. Fugetaboutit.

Anyone with an Off Road with quality aftermarket tires having this issue?

Mine does this too. At about 18mph. I feel a little shudder in my brake pedal. I'll have to see about whether it does it when coasting or not.

I put a set of cooper st maxx on and while i really like the tires, they did not solve the vibration issue, which i already kinda figured. My dealership either doesnt know how to resolve the issue, or doesnt want to. They dont come accross as brushing me off and did look at it twice while i was in there.

I figure i would just give toyota time to hear more people complain about it. I made my complaint. This is my first tacoma and from what ive been reading for the last few months pretty much says that this issue has been going on for quite a while on some trucks with no real clear fix. Could be wrong, but thats the gist ive been getting.

What im curious about is, if toyota openly stated that this redesign has definately done away with this problem, which obviously it hasnt, are they going to really dive in and find a fix? Or just just pretend Mr Sweers didnt say he'd buy dinner for anyone finding a vibration in the 3rd gen redesign.

If you bring it to dealer or are able to get any solid info on a fix, please share.

I was supposed to drop mine off tomorrow night at the dealer, but this dealer doesn't have a loaner car.....but I can rent one for $20 a day. What?!? So anyway, I had to cancel.
