My 2019 TRD OR recently developed a clunking sound in the front end. It only occurs around turns. It’s a rather hollow sounding clunk. The truck is lifted 3”, I was thinking tie rod ends but I’m not entirely sure anymore. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Check your skid plate bolts. That cured my issue.

Will check when I get home. Heard a lot about LCA bolts being lose, could be sway bar, but I have a sway bar drop kit so if it is, besides removing the lift, I’m not sure what I’d do then…

There is also the UCA bolts and the lower shock bolts. Try removing the sway bar completely?

I plan to try that tomorrow and see. Hoping it’s something cheap and simple, if not, oh well. Just want the clunk noise gone!

    This and that
That thread has links to a new more powerful less clicky bottom shock bolt.

Clunking sound appears to be from the hub on the drivers side. Any thoughts? Should I replace the hub?

Have you checked your break pads? I am trying to find a click on mine that sounds similar and only occurs when turning at slow speeds and uneven ground. I've re checked every bold I could but noticed my pads have some play to them.
    Good luck!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Place your hand on the front fender above the wheel opening then push forward and back. My fender was not completely tight. Who knows and good luck!

Wish it was that simple, unfortunately I’m 100% certain it’s somewhere within the front end components on the drivers side. Just not sure what it is.

Doesn't sound like a metal clunk or lca/skid plate bolt related.

Skid plates tight, LCA seems good, there’s no play in the wheel anywhere, inner tie rod has no play, outer tie rod was just replaced, I pulled the sway bar, it’s not sway bar or links. I guess it could potentially be the UCA but I’m not sure how likely that is…

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
How many miles? Happens when turning one direction or both? Happens when truck is parked? Have you been able to somewhat localize the sound to rough vicinity?

Im not a mechanic, but Id certainly put the front up on jack stands and turn the wheel. IF it makes noise have some one turn the wheel for you and get down and find where its coming from. Id also grab the front wheels when in the straight direction and see if I was able to push/pull/move the wheel at all and if that makes a sound.

I had someone turning the wheel, I had a mechanics stethoscope on and everything and couldn’t pinpoint it. The drivers tie rod end seemed the most likely but I put a brand new one on and it did nothing. It happens when turning both directions, it’s much louder when turning left though. It happens sometimes when parked, not every time, occasionally it happens when braking. Unable to replicate the noise by pushing or pulling anything. Truck has 140k on it

I’ve checked literally everything in the front end. There’s no play in anything. I even had a buddy of mine that’s a mechanic check it over and he’s just as stumped as I am.
