Here is the definitive answer for 99% of you out there with the mysterious dreaded TACOMA CLUNK...I changed everything I could in the front end suspension and even removed the anti sway bar....new control arms, upper and lower, shocks....went with Bilstein 5100's....had many mechanics look at it without any good results...I live in Baja near La Paz...I live 50 miles off the asphalt and it takes me two and half to three hours to drive that 50 miles one way.. .You could say I know bad roads....anyway I finally had a mechanic who works on BAJA MIL rigs down here in La Paz.. ..as soon as I asked this nice Mexican mechanic what he thought...he just looked at me and said "limiting straps"...but in Spanish.. .BINGO...they are straps that keep your control arm from dropping too far down and allowing your upper control arm to CLUNK on your coil spring...I could have done this in the first place, but in reality I am glad I took the hunt and peck method like everybody else because now I have all new gear under my front end for the bitch of a road I live on...but you can't beat where I live when I do get there...Good Luck you all...
