    Greeting All,

So it happened. My ol' lady rear ended someone in my 2000 PreRunner. Tow hitch went through the radiator support and pushed everything back. Body work, with radiator and a/c, is quoted at 2300 and then whatever else was damaged will be discovered.

I can't really rationalize the cost with the value at 293k being what it is. Likely a 3-4k cost.

So! Onward and upward, I'm going to bring her home and decide whether or not to parts her out or fix her up. Why am I here? Emotional support. Oh! And advice on whether to repair or parts.

    What do y'all think?

But seriously, that sucks, hope your wife is undamaged.

As far as what you should do with it, it all depends on you. More than likely it will not pencil out in pure financial terms to have a shop fix it. That doesn't mean you shouldn't fix it. There are several threads here that detail how to fix front end damage yourself. Take your time and do your research and read those threads, and it's totally doable.

That of course means it's now a "project" truck and you likely need to get a new daily driver.

Parting out is a yuge PITA, and you'll more than likely not get rid of everything, and in the mean time you've got a pile of metal taking up space in your yard. You'll make more money in the end, however.
