Hey there guys, pretty bummed that this is my first post on this page, but here we are. Got into a pretty bad accident this morning as some people screeched to a stop for a cross walk. Of course I was looking down to make sure my yeti wasn't taking the rubber cup holder with it as it always does. Ended up hitting the chevy in front of me pretty good, puncturing my radiator , and mangling some internals. Needless to say, I know this one was my fault, just glad no one was injured. Still bummed as I've only had her since last Christmas, my insurance should cover it, just hope she gets back to me soon, driving an outback for the meantime. I guess I'm just looking for some feedback and suggestions. Happy trails everyone.

Not gonna nag, but YOU weren't paying attention, so not too much sympathy here...shame about the truck, though. Hope you learn something from this experience.

Looks like you got the AC condenser and not the radiator. I don't see a big puddle of water underneath the truck. Doesn't look horrible. If you have collision and they pay you enough get an aftermarket front bumper. Doesn't look too bad because the hood and fenders don't look totally shifted out of place. Maybe just a little radiator support work on the DS and replace some of the brackets and stuff.

If you have collision coverage, they will cover it. It doesn't matter if you're drunk and getting a BJ when you crash. The insurance covers the truck. You will have a deductible that you'll have to pay.

Thanks for that man, appreciate the info. Some green fluid was leaking out right after the crash.

Yeah I see some of it in one of the pics it's just the dye that's in the A/C system for finding leaks.

Appreciate the hard truth, can't argue with that one. Have learned an important lesson.

Yikes man.. Glad to hear you're okay. But I feel you on the yeti cup grabbing a hold of the rubber cup holder... It drives me crazy. What I do to prevent me from looking down is twist the cup slowly while pulling up. Hope that works for you too

How would I go about doing that, assuming do it all after it gets fixed or talk to my agent about it?

Take the money instead of having a shop do the repair, spend it on aftermarket parts instead of 3rd party replacements- you aren't getting dealer parts anyways, might as well get what you want
