I have a '14 Taco with 50K miles on it. I have a creaking noise in the front end of my truck when I go from reverse to forward and then from forward to reverse. It was clicking so I did the the caliper pins and that seems to have stopped that noise but now the creaking noise is more audible. I checked the ball joints (jacked up the truck by the lower control arm to check) and they seem to be fine. I also checked the tie rod ends when I had the truck in the air and again no movement. So I'm thinking it's a control arm moving? I also have some outside tire wear so I'm also thinking that the camber is off which may be a hint that it's a control arm issue. Any thoughts? Am I checking these things the right way by lifting the truck by the lower control arm or should I have checked it by jacking up the truck by the frame?

Jack it up on the frame so there is no pressue on the the suspension. Mine has a few creaks from the front. One is the hood rubber stops. Stand on the door sill and rock the truck hard. See if it creaks. If it does, open the hood and shake the truck again. If the creak stops its the adjustable rubber hood stops.
