    BamaToy, you are correct.
    I just know that the first time I bought a vehicle I was scammed into GAP coverage with no need for it. I just wanted to make sure that folks know that GAP is great if you owe more than the truck is worth when you drive it off the lot.
    A good way to figure out if you need it or not is to run the vehicle with options through NADA and also look to recent local sales. This will give you an idea of the value of the vehicle. From there you can decide if you need the coverage or not.
