2014 double cab sport 4x4. Leveling kit 3" front 1" in the rear, and differential drop. 265/65/17 wheels. Only 13,000km. At 8,500 km on the truck I was cruising through the city when I noticed a very faint vibration in my pedels. Only between 60-70 km/h. As I was on my way to the dealership for its first servicing anyway I figured I'd get them to check it out. They told me I needed my tires balanced. Which I thought was odd seeing as I only had about 500 km on my new skins, but I went back to the tire shop and they balanced all tires again. Vibration didn't go away. But got worse, now I can feel it and hear it if I really listen. I take it back in to the shop two weeks later. Im told they rotated the tires front to back and the noise was completely gone. I pick up the truck and notice right away the noise is still there bit I leave for work for two weeks and was hoping maybe it was just a slight vibration from after the rotation and wanted to see if itsy go away. Well almost a month since then it has gotten to the point where I can feel it in my steering wheel and hear it constantly. The noise is not a constant tone, but a violent hum every second or so. I have checked my cv joints, ball joints, brakes, wheel bearings, and the dealership said they can't find anything. Nothing in the differential oil as for shavings or signs of wear. Im running out of ideas, any information or thoughts is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I remember reading somewhere on here that Tacomas need to have their tires balanced by a special type of balancer. I kno that guys have suggested going to Firestone and having them do the roadforce balacing. But idk if you have Firestones in Canada so your other option would be having the dealer balance your tires and see if that helps

10 bucks says front diff passenger side CV output needle bearing slop. I bet if your crusing at the 60-70km/h and pop it into 4x4 hi (on a straight stretch of road) the noise and vibrations will go away if so...

60 bucks for the ECGS bushing and problem solved.... also remove that diff drop when you do the bushing.

x2 on the diff bushing and ditch that diff drop. Also if your wheels are not hub centric make sure that are properly centered

Ended up just needing to get the dealership to balance it with their balancer. All is peachy again! Thanks

Okay sooooooo, turns out the vibration came back. I thought my Toyota dealer had a road force tire balancer which is why i thought it worked this time. Well apparently the woman working the desk that day didn't know what she was talking about because they in fact don't have that balancer. Finally found a local tire shop which does and although it cost me 40$ bucks per tire... I got it fixed. Turns out one of my XD wheels is a fraction smaller than the rest. Literally just enough to cause an annoying vibration even after being balanced. Well the road force worked and i guess I'll have to use that from now on. Just glad I finally got rid of the vibration.
