I've seen other threads about front hitches on 2nd Gen Tacomas, but am specifically curious about those who use it to carry bikes out front. I'm curious about actual experiences with line-of-sight and headlight interference, any damage to bikes from being out front, etc.

I'd be using a 2-pack Thule T2XT out front, with another two bikes on the roof and a pulling a small popup. 2009 DC SB TRD Sport with 3" lift.

    Thanks!

I'd think they'd really mess with your line of sight. And just get pummeled with bugs and rocks. Better to get a hitch on the pop up. Would only need a small 1 1/4 hitch.

Everything I've read about putting one on the back of the popup is no bueno. Too much rear end weight makes the trailer sway like crazy. Even if I could offset it with more tongue weight through loading, the bumper is most definitely not made for it, so I could potentially do a custom fab job and weld it onto the frame, but even the frame is questionable- simply not made for those kinds of forces.
