Ok. You want the A11110 if you are going to regear to 4.56.

AFAIK the ARB air locker is engaged "blind". With the rear e-locker, there's a warning light that will flash until the locker is fully engaged, then illuminate solid. AFAIK this is not a consistent process and you have to drive a little bit, turn the steering wheel, etc. for the locker to engage. Do you plan to have a similar indicator lamp wired into the cockpit for the front locker?

Yes zuk id the extra thick gear so he suggested 373... As for the indacator i imagin having an illuminated switch like the arb is possible, but im planning on making it look stock so im thinking a red led or something

I think this would be really hard to do unless the locker is designed for it like the rear e locker and the front ADD. They have limit switches that are triggered when the locker/ADD slide into place that tell the ECU they are engaged. The front ARB for our diffs only has an airline coming from it. Nothing electical, so there is no indicator for whether it is locked in or not. Just the light for when the switch is on or off.

So if the after market lockers dont have limit switches, adding them could be tricky if even possible.

Why would you want a limit switch? Safe guard against accidental engagement?

Take the power for your front locker from the power wire for the rear locker. If you can't lock the rear, you can't lock the front. No power. Just an idea, not sure on the wiring of the front e locker.

Does your ARB front locker engage easily when you hit the switch (no need to drive forward, turn the steering wheel, etc.)?

Ah, that's the difference. I think an e-locker, if it works the same way as Toyota's, will require an indicator light. If you apply full throttle before the locker fully engages, you can potentially damage the locker.

Yeah, limit switch might not have been the right wording, sensor maybe (I just assumed it was like a push button switch). haha. I don't know what the setup looks like physically in the A.D.D. but there are 2 limit switches and a "sensor". The sensor is what tells the ECU that the ADD is engaged. So when I did my 2Lo mod, I had to ground that sensor so the ECU thinks the ADD is engaged when it isn't.

I would assume the locker would need to have a similar sensor to tell your light that it is locked in. The front ARB has no such sensor so you would have to add one somehow yourself if you wanted one.

My front ARB engages damn near instantaneously most of the time, but the front tires, when turning, can line up the locker much faster than the rear can due to more varying wheel speeds. Disengaging can be a lot slower sometimes though, but with the front locker it is really easy to tell whether it is engaged or not because the steering is really stiff when it is engaged.

I see. Why didn't Toyota just use a locker like that in the first place?:p

Even with eaton style lockers you have to drive forward and backward to engage it. Unless its perfectly lined up when you press the button. I have experience with them. They're a pain in the ass to engage. This was on the rear of a vehicle.

Any links for good info on how the various lockers engage internally?

5% GST + $60 UPS handling fee. If part is subject to duty (not made in a NAFTA country), add another 10% or so. That's Kanada for you.
