So finally I have 4 JBL Club speakers up front, and 2 rear Kenwood woofers
    Kenwood KFC-1696PS.

Install of just the 2 tweeters took a while, okay it took me about 8 hours for these tweeters, longer than expected. But I'm slower than average and I took breaks for meals, calisthenics, etc.... If you're thinking about installing these in place of stock tweeters, you'll want to see this thread it may help. My brain is scrambled after this day, so I'm sure it won't make too much sense just ask any questions.

I'll just say this, it would have taken less time to remove the windshield, install the tweeters, and re-install the windshield. I considered removing the windshield while installing driver side tweet.

I got the tweeters, connector kit, and disc brackets from crutchfield.com. All I thought I needed was to splice a wire, and screw them in. Here's where I got surprised.

    1. I had to trim driver side tweet mounting bracket so it would lay flat, using tin snips came right off.

    2. speaker nuts were much harder to reach in driver side, i had to fabricate a wrench using a socket, hex extender, and 1/4" wrench. If I had infant hands and fingers would have been a different story here. My regular 1/4" socket nor 1/4" deep drive would get this job done, and twisting a wrench 1/8 turn at a time drives me nutso.

    3. instead of cutting a circle in bracket and using supplied screw-on mount, I opted for 100% pure silicone caulk, saved me hours of frustration since I didn't have a screwdriver that fit the supplied screws to mount them- I could get the screws 1/4 way into the plastic before all my screw drivers slipped out the screw head no matter what I tried. Plus all the mounting cups would add height to the tweeter that I didn't want. I drilled holes in bracket so caulk could be applied both sides and give better adhesion.

    4. I removed factory connectors because i wanted to use only the JBL supplied cross over, so below is a picture of how to disassemble the connector to be able to pull out the metal wire ends without distorting them, and, a wire color chart to show which wires get connected to + - on the tweeter wires. I didn't want to cut the wires at all, since there was only a couple inches of wire to work splice into to begin with. If you pull a tweeter you will see what I mean.

    5. 2 snap in connectors on passenger tweet cover popped off on uninstall, i just added some extra foam tape that was supplied by the crutchfield folks to avoid vibration on the install. I busted only one of those connectors on the driver side, again used the foam tape on the install. If anyone has an idea how to remove the driver/pass front pillar trim that might help not busting the connectors off on uninstall...and post that info here for reference for others.

    6. Here's the color key on my truck model, and factory stereo level install. Crutchfield tech support is there for you, they were there for me. I tell you, the color of these wires is crazy, they can tell you that the color to the tweeter, is not necessarily the color coming out the back of the radio for that same tweeter. And they have access to all these combinations and they are all different based on the sound system upgrades on your truck straight from Toyota.
