I am with you here. I use the factory plate holder, and it is just fine with me. I know everyone has their thing, but front license plate holders are not even on my list. I LIKE your "Don't Tread On Me" front vanity plate. I wish I was in a state where I could put a plate like that on the front of my truck!

Shit I found on CL or EBAY that I could screw on.
4 HD zip-ties. oriented the zip-ties on the plate so the long excess goes down the back of the plate to support it somewhat. I personally don't care if I have a front plate holder, but the truck didn't come drilled for a plate holder, so I am not going to do it.

I live in a two-plate-state. In 30 years I've never had a front plate on any car I've owned. I once had a cop say something and I said "but motorcycles don't have front plates". He shrugged and didn't say anything else about it.

OCR tracking cameras read the rear plate, cops can already pull you over for any reason in the world, made up or otherwise. A front plate is stupid. Mine lives under the seat.

This is still illegal. Also a hazard in the event of a crash.

Here what I decided to do in Manitoba, Canada. Really didn't want to drill into my bumper cause I'll eventually move back to Alberta where only the rear plate is needed.

Got the license plate holder from Raneys Truck Parts for about $35. Drilled new holes 9" apart to line up with the bolts holding the bumper.

When I went to pick up my new Tacoma, the dealer wouldn't let it off the lot without first installing the front license plate. They said something about it being a state law requirement. (They actually did a decent job installing the bracket.)

There are dimples in the front bumper for the bracket screws. You shouldn't even need to drill, because if done properly, the screws will penetrate the plastic.

With our previous purchase from this same dealership (a 2011 Corolla), they messed up badly installing the plate, missing the dimple by about 1/2 inch. This skewed the plate visibly. I reinstalled it, but ended up with an extra hole in the bumper. At least it was covered by the plate.

That's why I was hesitant to let them install it on my new Tacoma.

This is what I did and bent the bottom of the plate and screwed them onto the bumper. Got a few looks but no issues since it shows everything
