Have you or anyone you know ever gotten popped for not having a front license plate? I have yet to hear about anyone actually getting a ticket or even a warning for it.

Never been pulled over for it, but in two separate occasions, me and my gf were given tickets for not having front plates in LA while parked.

This alone may make me reconsider. The only time I'm happy about fliers under my windshield is when I think it might be a ticket!

yeah, I already knew LA is retarded when it comes to giving parking tickets, but didn’t think they were THAT retarded. I even tried fighting it when I got the ticket since my front plate had been literally destroyed after being hit and having the front bumper torn off. I explained what happened and even sent pictures, but they didn’t budge, and I was stuck paying the ticket.

First thing I do when I get a new truck is take the front plate off. I’ve never been hassled for it.

In the 13 years I’ve been driving I’ve always taken the front plate off my cars. I’ve never been cited or pulled over for no plate. Speeding yes, they never mentioned anything about the missing plate

this. two cars, 20+ yrs ownership zero tickets for no front plate. live in CA. I keep my cars clean, don't be a jerk and chances are you'll not even get a second glance by police. asshats do the police's job for them, less work so why not pop em for a laundry list of fixits?

it doesn't count. i had mine in the dash, was told by a friend (police) that not only is it pointless because it's behind glass, it's dangerous, he worked an accident (responder) and passenger had the license plate hit her face and about took her nose and cheek off.

It is a legal excuse to pull you over, happened to me as a kid in a old sports car a few times even though I was driving legally. My car was set up for rallies, stickers and all... I think they just wanted to see inside.

I kept my front plates on ever since.

Exactly right. Any cop can pull you over and say "the reason i stopped you is you have no front licence plate". Gives them cause, happened to me but honestly they were just checking to see if I was drinking. I was driving though a downtown bar area late night. Same thing can happen for illegal tint.

Funny thing is they never saw the street illegal Hella H3 headlights and the two rectangular 24volt landing lights behind the grill. But a missing front license plate? Here’s a fix it ticket sonny.

Used to park at LAX quite often. I would get back to the car to find a ticket for no front plate until I made it a point to find a spot with the front of the car up against a wall or pillar.

I was pulled over because I didn’t use my turn signal while making a left turn. I was written up for no front plate. $50 fine. This was about 5 years ago in San Dimas. LA county Sheriffs.

I'll probably keep them on for this reason alone.

I never got bothered for a missing front lic plate on my Camaro even though I've got 8 point cage , no hood because the engine is well above the fenders , very loud exhaust and lic plate that mentions I race
