    Old thread....Yes...

We've had our Samsung Front loader washer/dryer for 3 years now..... The dryer started acting kinda weird. You'd set it on the 'Auto' dry feature and it would shut off after 10 minutes. Been trying to figure that out...but its been on/off since. Go figure.... and we didn't get the extended warranty on these.

Does anyone have the fullsize front loader washer & dryer stacked??

Since our laundry room is limited in space - were thinking of stacking these things to make room to install a laundry tub/utility sink. Just curious of the feedback in stacking these units. I'm 5'6" - would the dryer be a bit too high for me to reach?

No experience but I imagine they can be stacked and still reachable by the average woman.

I don't see a manufacturer making a decision that completely cuts off at least half of their customers by making machines unreachable by average height adults and teenagers.

I have a stacked set, 3-4 years now and zero trouble. There is a plastic connector to make them stay stacked even. They're a pair of Frigidaires with seemingly more buttons and selections than a modded TRD offroad expedition truck demo-ing lightbars.

Unless they're stackable, they're not stackable.

Yea, 4'6" to the bottom of the dryer lint trap (also a front loader), a 5'4" person can stare right into my dryer at the center. check each brand/model though.

Depends on what they consider the 'average height' ...LOL

Our Samsungs are stackable. There's a stacking kit you have to buy. Right now, they're on pedestals but take up the entire room. I did some quick measuring - they're both about 39" tall not including the pedestals (give or take). The opening to the dryer would be within reach. Buttons might be a toe tipper reach...as they'll be over my head (75" give or take).

Thinking ahead of time....as one of our home projects will be to redo the laundry room floor and 'high traffic' area between the laundry room door & door that goes to the garage. So, we'll see... I'll have to take some better measurements and look at things more closely when we're ready to do that project.

Take the pedestal off the dryer , add the stacking kit , and stack them

after you move the electrical supply and vent of course

True, and I'm 6'7" now at 28 and was 6'3" in 7th grade, so I haven't had much experience with not being tall enough to do normal things, but lots of folks are 5'6" and below as adults and the majority of teens.

I wanted some feedback if anyone has done it. Like, unforeseen issues... Dryer shakes, wife hates it because..., doesn't vent properly... that kind of crap. Etc

This would require us to remove cabinets that are above them now. Electric & venting is ok where it is.

I have 2 sets of front loaders, both Samsung brand and both driers are steam ready. I can't stress enough how much I love them. They are well worth the money.

Stacking tends to reduce shaking in my experience as it's usually the washer that moves around more so than the dryer

The dryer cord may not reach depending on your plug location and usually venting is centred on the bottom of the dryer back which would be in a different position than it is for side by side installations presumably

Thanks! This little idea/project might not happen until next spring. It's nice to know there isn't any/much 'bad karma' involved when stacking them.

The room....is only about 12" wider than the width of the washer & dryer side-by-side. Tiny little room. If I remember, the plug is about 3' off the ground and in the middle. The Vent already has a 4' cheap foil wrapped pipe on it to the bottom back corner of the room.

Logistically....it'll be an easy switch. Aside from taking cabinets down and reconfiguring them.

    Thanks!!!

It's all good...I bumped it again to ask some new questions.

I love the Samsungs, including the steam. I had a little issue with my dryer here recently ....Auto dry would shut off after 10 minutes. It's been OK the last two loads. But still..... It's only 3 years old.
