I am surprised that Toyota is still using these ridiculously long mud flaps. On fairly standard woods roads, both mud flaps have been torn lose. Yes they can be trimmed, but why hasn't Toyota addressed the issue by using shorter ones? The 2015 design has been around too long for the problem to still be around.

I plan to call Toyota Corporation (1-800-331-4331) today.

Has this complaint appeared in Peterson's Off-Road publications?

They don't use shorter ones because the ones they use protect the truck from debris and spray. Those of us who trim them or use shorter aftermarket flaps do so knowing our rocker panels will get rock chips and our doors will have mud sprayed up the sides.

Even a small lift on stock flaps will expose the truck to spray and debris.

    Welcome to TW!

If this issue bothers you that much, wait until you learn about some of the really fun "quirks".
