I'm definitely in for one. I've got a long bed, so your design would work better for me because it looks like cali's only has the wheel well cutouts. 3/16" aluminum would probably be sufficient. Thanks for the cool design work!

Here is my first version for a short bed. Without knowing the bed mount hole spacing I can't add slots for that yet, but that's not difficult.

The short bed version looks pretty good, I think I'd like one in alum.

Would you be willing to get me a dimension for the short beds?

So I've looked at shipping, material costs, nesting for laser cutting (or water jet cuts) and I think I could have either the short bed version or long bed version shipped throughout the US for roughly $150-$175. That's unpainted though, I think this maybe the way to go because it allows you to pick what color it is and if you even wanted painted. These prices are for either 3/16" or 1/4" 5052 Aluminum. I still need to talk with one of the fab shops about making these and there costs, but I have included my estimate for this in the price. I think the price from the fab shop will be lowest if I get more. Let me know what your guys' thoughts are; I will look into fab costs tomorrow. I've looked at shipping to Canada and that would add ~$50 to cost.

I just received a quote on the costs to make these. It would cost $175 for 3/16" aluminum, or $160 for 10 ga. steel. That is just factoring ordering 5 for the long bed and 5 for the short bed, I think this price will drop if I were to order more. So I would like to see if people would be interested in these if they cost between $200-$250 shipped. Please mark the survey or PM me what size you would like if you were to order. Then I can get a more accurate quote.

I thought for a minute that this mounted behind the rear window. That would be more useful to me. The bed gets loaded up so I couldn’t even access this version. Good idea though.

If you do a behind the glass version, like a headache rack with 1/4”, I’d be interested.

    *UPDATE*

I received some more quotes based on more pricing and this is what I have.

If 5 are ordered - collectively - price is $225 each plus shipping
If 10 are ordered - collectively - price is $185 each plus shipping
If 15 are ordered - collectively - price is $175 each plus shipping
If 20 are ordered - collectively - price is $165 each plus shipping

This would have to be done similar to a group buy because parts cannot just be made individually. This means I need to have a good view of who would actually order before an order could be placed. These would be made from 3/16" aluminum and be un-coated (i.e. no paint or powder coat). The price is the same for long bed and short bed versions. Shipping costs are approximately $60 for shipping within CONUS, and $115 for shipping to Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii. The shipping price will not be fixed, I will most likely sell these through my Etsy account if this goes through.
