I have a 2005 Tacoma Prerunner and I can not get my front parking lights to work. I've checked bulbs, fuses and relays. I've tried researching this issue several times and I can not find what I'm looking for. :pccoffee:
Anybody have any solutions or recommendations? Thanks in advance.

The ones on the corners, or the ones between the headlights and the grille?

The ones between the headlights and the grille are ONLY turn signals on the 2005.
Later models used them as DRLs... and they shut off when the headlights are turned on.

The corner lights are the only front parking lights on any 2nd Gen Tacoma.

When I turn my parking lights on, I have no lights at all on the front of my truck, including the lights on the sides.

The bulbs are in sockets, and the sockets plug into the harness.
Double check those connections, commonly overlooked.

I'm not 100% positive, but there may be a second fuse for the front and rear lights. Check the panel under the dash.

Rear parking lights work? That would indicate that the switch is okay.

The rear parking lights do work. It's just the front ones that I'm having some trouble with. I have checked the fuses under the hood and also under the dash and they all seem to be okay. I will take another look at it again tomorrow and check those connections again though.

Both of my Parking (Running Lights) bulbs were blown. I picked up a pack of Sylvania #2827 LL (Long Life) replacement bulbs. They look like fat yellow Christmas tree lights.

Was checking the front parking lights last night and noticed that neither worked??? Rear worked, signals worked. Pulled them to inspect and surprisingly both bulbs had broken filaments. Kind of odd. Replaced them and they are fine so far.

Reach in behind the headlight under the edge of the fender and you'll feel the socket.
Give it a 1/4 turn and it'll pull right out.

Anyone ever had the issue where the parking light (very outside orange bulb) sometimes won’t come on? It’s just the passenger side. If it’s not on I can bump the corner of the headlight assembly and it’ll light up. What’s the problem??

Bulb with a loose connection in the socket. The bulb could be damaged also.

Take a small screwdriver and pry the tabs in the socket to the center of the socket. All 4 tabs..

I suppose. Being an electrician, I know not to go across the terminals... The only way I can describe it would be to imagine your index and middle finger being the terminals for one side of the light bulb and your arm being its wire. Take the screwdriver and pry your fingers together as it were in the socket

electrons flow through the filament once directed by the operator via a switch. electricity enters and heats the tungsten filament housed inside. And when the filament heats up, “incandescence” is created, which is light produced by heat

So the current flows from Positive side of the battery, to the negative side.
And the electrons go from the negative side to the positive side. Makes perfect sense.:boink:

mr franklin had an incorrect assumption way back when. Probably that lightning strike that killed a few brain cells.
