I'm having trouble with my front passenger window. Last night I installed an OEM automatic tailgate lock. The lock works fine, but now I'm having front passenger side window problems. From the driver side controls, the window doesn't work. But from the passenger side controls it works just fine. Everything else in the door works, too; mirrors, speakers and locks. The fuses under the steering wheel check out, any ideas? Is there another hidden fuse? Fwiw, the toyota app keeps telling me the window is down when it's not. I posted this earlier in another thread without realizing it was in the 2nd gen forums. Figured I'd try over here. This is a 2021 TRD offroad. Thanks!

    Wooohoo! Quick easy fix.

EDIT: I just looked at your thread in the 2nd gen forum.... they were asking you to do all sorts of taking apart and checking before even trying the easy stuff first.

I actually just tagged onto someone else's window problems hoping to not start a new thread. I dont think my question has gotten a reply yet. Anyway, I didnt unplug the battery when I did the Install. I wonder if that would have reset the windows too.

Could of caused the issue, but I will say I have done so many things that should of needed the battery disconnected, but had no issues. Some people do some dont. But always good practice you unhook battery when doing electrical.

If you turn on the ignition when one window control is not plugged in, then it will trick the master (driver) control into thinking it's not there. Very tricky these Toyotas. If anything, watch the video for the laidback commentary.

You’re a lifesaver! I had removed my 2019 Tacoma door panels (for MESO puddle lights install) and afterwards couldn’t work the passenger side window from the driver side, even though the passenger side worked. Auto up/down stopped working too. I don’t know how I tripped it up, but I was disconnecting the battery multiple times while doing electrical work. I had given up, found this, and it did the trick. Thanks!

Just wanted to chime in and say this worked for my 2019 I just bought. Passenger window wouldn’t roll up with the drivers side button. Quick reset and it fixed it.

Excellent find, my 2016 OR battery died after I left the radio on sitting for an hour or two and after jump starting I noticed the auto function on the window switches drivers side weren't working, also lost control of the passenger window only from driver's side

Fearing that I smoked something jump starting, I panicked and found this, worked like a charm, had to reset the drivers and passenger side.

    Many thanks!!
