I put mine on earlier but it looked like it may not clear the gas tank, definately a tight fit. Any first gens have any issues with it?

fit fine once i took the tin crap off -,- gas tank skid was only in the way for tightening that top bolt.. but if you have the tools you can figure it out or just unbolt the gas tank skid

I missed the cut and deadline for this. Hell, didn't even have my Taco yet.
But if you need someone to jump in and pick up a slot, I'd be willing to buy one

Ok, silly question here: I removed the 5 bolts/nuts, and replaced three of them holding the new skid on. Should I have replaced the bolt which goes into the center of the motor, or is it just there to mount the old cover?

I put mine on in about 15 mins., it took me longer to find all of my tools than to do the work! Good looking piece!

Considering how Much of the elements that area see's, I'd put the bolt back in to keep it from filling up and potentially causing other problems down the road.

Were there enough threads showing on the top mounting point with the stock cover there still?

I also left the original tin on as well, because why not?

    Same here.

Running the tin on a 1st gen and the new skid.

    No problem.

    Sacrificed a washer or 2, that's all

Finally got guard installed. Went ahead and replaced the studs with bolts and one bolt with an allen head button bolt. Ground off a little on top corner of guard so it would not hit new allen head bolt. But everything looks good to go.

Allen head button bolt and ground off a little of corner.

    Side view.

Anyone with a 2nd gen and a gas tank skid install theirs?

I put mine on and it's a super tight fit to the skid... May be getting out the cutting wheel tomorrow am..

@Front Range Off Road have you tested the clearance to the gas tank when the differential moves up?
