Front range volunteer recovery groups?

Reading the trail etiquette thread reminded me -- last year at the first big December snowfall there was a group of five or six trucks patrolling Golden Gate Canyon Road and getting people unstuck and turned back down the hill safely. Mostly first-gens and 4Runners.

I was just about to start pulling a Corolla off the shoulder when they showed up, and it was clear they were far better equipped and qualified so I just got out of the way. Didn't think until later to ask what group they were with.

Any ideas what group that might have been and how to get connected with them? Or who else is doing similar work?

There's a few groups on FB that do this. CO4x4RnR started out as one of those informal groups before they went organized.

 

Yeah, I've been vaugely aware of CO4x4RnR for a little while. I got the impression this particular group was just some guys out having fun and doing good deeds on a Friday -- but I don't actually know either way. Golden Gate is my backyard so I thought it would be cool to connect with them.
