    I was in a finder binder about 6 months ago, after getting my truck back from the body shop I thought it was fine, I notices the hood on the front and left corners was shaking while driving. The body shop simply said it wasn't their fault, but had me raise the black bumper risers. This now has my hood sticking up and it still shakes at interstate speeds.

    I had another shop replace the hood latch and that did not solve the issue.

    SO before I drain anymore money can anyone offer any help? I will take some photos when I'm on lunch brake and can post them here.

    I thought i might need to buy a new hood. But wanted to wait before I spent anymore cash. THANKSSSSSS for any help

    it is 100% a failure on the body shop to not fix the alignment issue but they are likely too stupid or lazy to figure out something is still bent with the radiator support so the hood latch bracket isn't being positioned right like it should.

    I had a similar issue with my 99, same thing, front end was bent in at some point then fixed but had a floppy hood and if the bumpers were adjusted to stop it the hood stuck up like 1/8" higher then the fenders.

    I looked at the whole setup and the simple solution was I removed the hood latch support bracket (goes from bottom of radiator up to the latch), drilled a new hole in the lower bolt hole one hole space lower then used the bit to open it into one adjustable slot that allowed me to push it down about 1/8" lower. I reinstalled the bracket and tightened everything up except that lower bolt, then I pushed the hood down until the hood lined up right again and tightened it there and it fit perfectly after that.

    sounds like the same issue! wow you said that was simple. I have to re read what you typed. so you actually have to drill and re set the whole thing. can a body shop do this?

    @keakar

    How did you go about tightening that bolt while the hood was closed (curious minds want to know!).

    The back of my hood flops in the breeze too. I noticed it shortly after I installed the "Genuine Toyota Parts" bug deflector..

    When I remove the bug deflector the hood don' be floppin' no mo'...

    you will get a little wobble at speed if you ave a bug deflector. it shouldn't "shake" though.

    probably what @keaker mentioned, a misaligned hood latch on the core support

    Not enough to have a build thread.
    I'm going to go with this. Sounds like something is still bent or misaligned.

    Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
    Is a "finder binder" similar to a trapper keeper?

    Was your insurance company involved with the work done at the body shop? If so they might be able to help out.
