I recently changed my front right axle and had to also change the seal, do to leaking after we got done. So now their is a new seal and its still leaking.. How far do you drive the seal into the diff.? Go till she stops, as we did, or flush to the out side with lips?

I put mine flush. I used a PVC 2 inch pipe connector to hammer it in without damage. Then i put a little oil on the seal and put the axle back in. Carefull not to damage it with the axle while installing.

Make sure you install it with the correct side facing out

No plans to replace a front differential. I bet if you do a Google search, you'll find a good write-up or even a video on one of the many Toyota forums or YouTube.

I imagine we might do this at some point if somebody finds an e-locker rearend on a wrecked Tacoma or 4runner at a Pick and Pull and then decide to grab the front differential at the same time so they don't have to deal with regearing the front. The way I understand it, the open differential gearing is 4.10 but the locker rear ends came with 4.30 gearing. So, if you want to swap out your open diff rearend with a locker rearend, you have to address the gearing in the front to match the rear.
