    90311-47026. You got the right one.

    Not sure about tools or the exact process. @Texoma may know, although he normally doesn’t change those with the gear jobs he does.

    With my limited guessing, I would assume use a seal puller to get it out and then a large socket or seal driver to hammer it in straight and then stop at the same spot that the old one was at. Take a few pics of the old one for reference.

    Yeah I was thinking of using the PVC pipe to hit it in

    Good idea on taking the pics for ref on the depth. there is supposed to be a lip but I will take the pics anyway.

    I actually have one of those because I just bought it for my regear but didn’t need it. I don’t think it had a lip but I can confirm. The left side is for sure installed to a specific depth.

    I’m not exactly sure on removing the CV, on past vehicles I used a pry bar. On the Tacoma specifically, remove the two lower steering knuckle bolts so that you can swing the brakes/steering knuckle away from the diff which lets you get the diff end of the CV out and moved out of the way without having to disassemble the stub shaft from the unit bearing or tear down the brakes or anything like that.

    No lip on mine. I never did confirm it was the right seal in the diff but it was the only option I ever found on the parts diagrams. Pretty sure it’s right.

    BTW: $4 National P/N 710595 interchanges with the OEM part: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2480322&cc=3441741&pt=1860&jsn=11

    A screwdriver is enough to pry the old seal out. Make sure the seal seating surface in the diff housing is free of rust. Sand it smooth with sand paper if you see rust. Put some grease or diff oil on the seal to prevent tearing as you drive it in. It's difficult to get the seal to go in square. I used a seal driver, but instead of hammering on the handle, I hammered on the disc portion at different spots to get the seal to go in square.

    No need for slide hammer or bearing puller, unless you're replacing the ball bearing in the diff. The CV axle needs a pry bar to pop free from it's spring clip. Once popped free, turn the pry bar around and hammer along the notches on the CV joint cup.

    Bought the toyota one at 5x price. comments everywhere said it was necessary. not sure.

    I am going to pass by autozone so I will rent the puller and maybe a seal driver

    ^The Toyota seal leaked, so you buy the exact same part and expect a different outcome? :p

    Again, what is the puller for? Seal driver is very helpful.

    Maybe I went through some headlight deep mud.....

    The puller is free to "rent"

    Do you know if I need the toyota 75w-90 GL5 from toyota or mobile 1 works?

    ^Then make sure the front diff breather isn't clogged. Might be the root cause of the leak. :laugh:

    Any major brand 75W90 will be fine. In my experience Pennzoil/Shell/Quaker State (same mfr) smells a bit less horrid than the other brands.

    Eh, not like they leak often. OEM seals are usually better quality than anything aftermarket. *usually, not always*

    Whatever gear oil you want to use is fine as long as it’s GL5.
