It does not move freely. I didn't apply too much force.

The fronts are welded inside the channel the runs across under the seat. The rears you can see from under the truck. I was thinking that there is a small possibility that the weld is letting go, and the nut has been pushed back somehow. The only problem I see now thinking about what I said was that if the weld is breaking, and you manage to fully break it just by running the bolt in, then you'll never get the bolt out....

Did you try having someone sit in the seat to see if it closes the gap up enough for the threads to catch?

This was a top down view with the flash on. You can see metal. Not visible from underneath.[IMG]

:) Maybe you missed it, but I suggested that in the first reply you got today.

@SilverhawkDad (OP) Perhaps this will help, as I also have a 2000 PreRunner V6 ExtraCab with Bucket seats. While working on my seats last year I took this photo to remind where to return the bolts. This was the front passenger seat.
Let Me know if that helps

Resolved. I took the seat out completely. Put the bolt in and tightened it all the way down which pulled the nut close enough to engage when the seat was installed. Thanks to all of the suggestions.

Will bucket seats from an '04 CC fit an '01 RC?
