They don't exactly have the best reputation...

I certainly wouldn't trust them - I have never trusted them on any of my Jeeps, and I won't on my Taco.

Yes their are better stuff out there but also different set ups, I have a 3 inch on my single cab 4 cylinder 4x4 and the lifts been on for about 4 years that I use strictly for a camp truck and have had no problems with it, I have a 4 inch on a 98 jeep Cherokee lifts been on for so long I couldn't tell you how many years and have had no problems with it, I've only had this 6 inch on since August and had no problems with it yet either, a lot of people say they're trash but I like them and know others that have them and also like them. I think they're great for the price and a 3 inch is simple

Did you have to do any modifications to your truck in order to the lift kit on? any cutting or anything?
Or was it just a basic swap?

One can never have too many light bars.
Depends what you wanna spend. Icon and Kings are super high end. I would say Fox is a notch below those two but still a high quality product. Check out

No mods on it only wheel spacers and did a lil cutting, about a 6 inch piece out the frame under it but it get reinforce with to other brackets front and back of it, this is all on my 6 inch lift not the 3 inch, I've never tried anything other then rough country but Ik theres some more high end stuff out there but I think rough county is good for the price

Pretty excited to get it installed!
Then ill hopefully be getting my wheels and tires installed next week.
Im going with 275/70/17 BFG Ko2 tires with black rhino rockwell wheels

The strut extensions i got were only an inch and a half tall. The guy told me that it changes the angle of the Shock and actually raises the truck 3 inches.
Did your 6 inch lift arrive similar to this?

Ya it sounds about right for the 3 inch I have but the 6 inch there's a lot more stuff involved. I'm thinking about running some 18x9 worx beast 18 with a 285/65/18 cooper discoverer stt pro

Looks like rough country uses 4" blocks and spacers on their 6" lift kit right? In that case the best shocks and struts would be those that combine the length of the stock shock body and the blocks and spacers. You will then need longer coils up front and a new leaf pack that gives you 4" of lift. I think Alcan can build you a leaf pack to that specification.
