That could be it though the material is pretty stiff for neoprene. Sumosprings does offer a spacer if you call but I don’ didn’t follow through with them to get it. While I double there would be much movement there, im still going to record it and go from there. It might be that the 3/8 or 1/2 that I used is too much and causing the issue.

Here my latest video, it includes a 1/2” spacer in there. I'll try and get time to get a few side by side pics of the compression at certain points in the drive. I need to find a better place to test it lol.

Here’s some crappy pics I was able to get, top pics are with the spacer bottom are without. Both drivers side and as close as I could get to the 2 best compressions I found.

I had to do the same. I’m very happy for those that got these to go straight in, but I had cut the metal stud down to match the length of the OEM bump stop. I’m on stock suspension and had the front tires completely off the ground. The threads just had way too much upward pressure for me to get them lined up without cross threading. With the threaded studs trimmed to OEM length there’s still plenty of threads coming out the other side of the nut that’s welded on the frame. This was my personal experience with my factory setup on my truck.

FWIW - The rear bumps DO break in. When I first installed them they were quite a bit firmer than the fronts felt. Now a few weeks after install and a couple of loaded down camping/kayaking trips later, they are not nearly as firm on contact and at this point I really can't imagine driving this truck without bump-springs front and back.

Installed mine yesterday. I had to cut the stud down also even though the truck was jacked up with the wheel off of the ground. I screwed the supplied nut all the way down the threads, cut the bolt down then backed the nut all the way off to clean up the threads. The ride was noticeably better.

Got mine installed this past weekend. Having aftermarket suspension definitely helped give me clearance. Ended up installing as is no spacer.

Installed the front set yesterday, now have front and rear sumos, no complaints so far. It was pretty easy to remove the stock ones

Finally able to get a pair for the front. Really liking the ride. Had the rear for a year. I think the fronts would be tough to install stock height.

How do you like the Black in the rear? I bought a set but haven't installed them yet. I have a stock OR with a 400lb cap on order that I will add about 200 lb's of camping gear. I'm hesitant that they will be too stiff and I should have ordered the blue. Thanks.

Actually those are BLUE but since they have been on a year, they just look black lol. You may be right about the black. If you can exchange for blue, I would. The blue are more than enough for me. I have 3AAL, Diamond Back cover (90LBS), dual battery mounted in bed (70lbs), and recovery gear/bedside molle, onboard mounted air compressor and a safe jack with 2 OR base plates (50lbs). Probably a total static weight of 250lbs and BLUE is more than enough.

25% off on their site currently until December 31st. I’ll be picking up both front and rear blue sets for my 2022 whenever it comes in.

2021 OR DCLB stock other than rear blue sumos and Helwig rear sway bar and Blizzak tires.

Installed the front Sumosprings. They raised the front 1/2". From 34.25" to 34.75". Definitely reduced nose-dive while braking. Reduced some body-roll but didn't eliminate it. I think it made the steering lighter. Trying to stabilize the truck for towing a 3500# camper with a weight distribution anti-sway hitch setup.

Had to cut off 3/8" of the bolt to get it in there. Instal with the cutting and filing took 50 minutes.

I'd like to know if replacing the stock front sway bar with a Helwig 1 3/8" sway bar would significantly reduce body-roll.

The Helwig rear sway bar significantly reduces body-roll.

Finally got around to installing them. Took less then 1hr to install both fronts and rears. Took it for a spin around some crappy roads nearby and its a huge improvement. Its a little more firm but definitely not rough and you get a lot less feedback in the steering wheel when you hit a pothole. The rears just feel slightly more firm but you really don't notice them until you hit a speed bump or big dip in the road. Body roll is reduced as well and overall its just a better ride IMO. Glad I jumped on these and sold my Firestone airbags. I carry less real heavy loads and this setup should work real nice when carrying my dirt bikes in the back.

Hey, all. Simple questions: will these easily go on in my garage self-installing with no special tools? Will they lift the front of my stock 22 sr5 4x4? Thanks!
