Front Sumos Super Thread

You guys must have bought them all because now it says “backordered.” Ordered a set with the discount anyway.

damn and I'm still here debating whether to get these or the wheelers super bumps

 

Mine are sitting in my local sort facility - won’t get them until Tuesday but excited to have gotten in before the back order! I love the fox pro shocks but uneven pavement / cracks / gravel are still pretty jittery, unless there’s some travel happening and the shocks compress. My truck is 10x smoother driving over speed bumps than on poorly maintained streets. If these soften that a bit I’ll be happy.

 

That's exactly what these will do. I think youll like the ride.

 

Who else has them in stock? I'm waiting on them to be back in stock. With these installed some say it helps with the lean and is anyone getting any bit of height increase with them being larger than stock.

 

Not sure. Last night I saw they had 22 in stock on Amazon and now they are all gone. That's wild though.

 

I just ordered from the link for $186 when they get back in stock. Could not find them on Amazon.

 

That's kind of what I'm looking for. I think I'll pull the trigger on these oh well if they're back ordered.

 

Well, the backorder didn’t last long. I just got a shipping notification and the website says they are back in stock.

 

Thats great news! I saw they went out of stock quick last i saw.

 

Mine arrived today. Takes longer to jack the truck up and put it on stands than it does to swap these out. Little tricky getting them threaded with the angle of the UCA but not a huge deal. I have the Pro Fox coilovers and with those (and the 1" taller spring than stock non-Pro) there is just about 1/2" gap between these and the UCA vs. OP who indicated they were resting on them full time - assuming our spring differences at play.

Will report back once I break free of work to test how these $200 chunks of foam smooth things out on-road, then this weekend I'll have some trail time to take advantage of (hopefully) less jarring jitters in the front

 

I should have mine tomorrow. I’ll post my lift specs and space measurement along with a new video this weekend sometime.

 

Interesting! Just as I stated mine are just stock springs with 5100's up front with a level.

 

Ordered mine a few days ago, got an email they will be delivered on the 9th.

 

So what's the best and easiest way to install. I have 5100s set on 4th perch on stock coils,. Any tips?

 

Yep... mine too, got the same notification ! I ordered direct from Sumo.
A pleasant surprise Mine have shipped via Fedex.

I got brakes to do, thought it would be good to do these at the same time.

 

I just took the front wheels off and used a large pair of Channel lock pliers to get the old ones off. Used the blue loctite and screwed the new ones in like a light bulb. Ez Pz.

Put mine in today, pretty easy job even with the tires on, but I was afraid of cross threading them because I had to squish them in there a bit in order to get them all lined up properly.

All went well though, no cross threading, and on the test drive I did notice right away that all the potholes and manhole covers on my usual route didn't seem as intense as they used to. I really like the feel of these. It is an improvement. My Sumo's do slightly keep constant contact (2020 SPORT stock suspension, no lift) but my front end ride height remained the same. Very happy with these, thanks again OP!
