Just ordered with the 15% off. Can’t wait to see how much better they make the ride. Sounds promising

For me it did. With a stock suspension it rests on the sumo all the time.

Space at lowest point between stock stop and LCA about 1.5”, most about 2”.
My lift has me about 22.25” wheel center to fender.
After, about 1.25 to 1/8” on the inside. Depending if the truck is sitting level. If it’s parked on a hill facing down, the inside will touch slightly.
It feels like it definitely did dampen some of the speed bumps. I made the video and will post it later. I’m not going to post the before again but if you’re curious, the stock stop didn’t make contact that I could tell in the video. The Sumos have plenty of contact. My lift had already taken care of the nose dives and body roll. Overall, I think it was a good purchase!

As a FYI super springs does have spacers/pucks that may benefit some. Maybe they have something for these fronts

I didn’t ask when I called because I’m not lifted but if these fronts are in fact supposed/designed to make contact at all times then those that have a lift obviously won’t get the full benefits as stock. With that being said if your lifted and add a puck according to lift that would make it full contact would be something to look into.

When I added my aal and the rear sumos, since my drivers rear was about 7/8” lower than passenger rear, I also went back and added 1/2” spacer to the drivers leaf to level the rear. By doing that my driver rear sumo was closer to frame than passenger so I asked for a 1/2” puck to put on my passenger rear sumo so both sumos would be a similar gap to frame.

Did anyone reuse the factory washers? I did and thought it was a good idea, then some locktight and I used an old oil filter wrench and got them pretty snug. The ride is better, definitely a lot better going over speed bumps and the steering feels better. My truck has always always driven and rode great, this just diales everything in. Was the price worth it, maybe not for $185 but I'm super impressed with the steering as rebound is way better. Literally took 10 minutes!

I didn’t have washers on the factory front bump stops, the new ones came w/ at washer and nut for use on bottom mount configurations. On the Tacoma, they just spin in with a bead of locktight (also included).

Do you have 5100's on the front of your truck? Bilstein sends washers with 5100's to space the bump stops down that are to be used on some applications.

Yes, I'm assuming that they added the washers when I had the lift installed, since some say they didn't have them. I re-used them when I put the new bump stops on. I think the blue look good with the 5100s and they do slightly touch the control arms when back on the ground.

Do the rears cause it to ride ruff? I don't haul or pull anything so it might be an over kill.

Jeesh.... You guys and your "literal 10 minutes" o_O
I'm pretty good with a wrench and have a damn good assortment of well worn tools but for you guys that come after me, do yourself a favor and budget an hour.

Like if you have to pick up your boy from school in an hour and he's 15 minutes away.....
Don't figure you'll slap these on and be there on time...

The nuts and washers supplied by Sumo have NO application on our Gen III trucks. (at least not mine)
The upper frame is threaded to accept the bump stops.

After I figured that out..... (the clock is ticking ) I found the removal of the OG part pretty straight forward with a plumbers pipe wrench to get it started. Spun off by hand the rest of the way with a pair of leather gloves and a firm grip.

    20210910_185428.jpg

By the looks of the OG part, it doesn't appear to have been doing much bumping or stopping in the 80K miles I've driven it......
I am on the road mostly, "off road" to me is a construction site or a forest road.

    20210910_184342.jpg

The threaded rod to secure the Sumo to the frame is much longer than stock and it's threaded to the very end.
I thought I was going to have to release my lower shock mount to get it in there even with the front wheel off the ground but I squeaked it in..... be careful here of cross threading. Have the jack and some patience handy. ( )

    20210910_191529.jpg

We'll see.... I'm in New England now and it's a rough road rodeo for sure.
These are the front shocks I'm running and I like them.

    20210910_190722.jpg

We'll see how much these stops will add to the positive side. There is a definite size difference !

    20210910_191009(1).jpg

    20210910_190459.jpg

I have matching Billies out back with Sumo's, as well as an AAL and Hellwig anti-sway bar already (I tow).
It's a pretty tight ride as it is.

    Good luck with yours !
