I got to experience the ball joint failure while in a parking lot thankfully. My question is, does anyone know of a true kit with quality that I can purchase to rebuild everything. Control arms, ball joints, tie rods and just about everything else.

Not on a budget because this is my baby. Thanks in advance.

I know of no complete kit. Everything Is usually sourced oem parts. That's the best. Members often reference mcgeorge toyota online and camelback toyota online. Amazon can sometimes have fakes so best through a reputable source. Oem balljoints always. Inner tierods rarely get worn out before other components and are very expensive 555 inners are a acceptable part.

As far as the control arms/bushings. Normally the bushings themselves are pressed out and new ones in. Unless you arms are rusted or beyond repair

I'm looking at MOOB parts for the biggest majority. My guy uses them all the time. What ya think about that company.

There not what they used to be for our trucks. Bad castings, mis matched parts. There metal on metal design for the gusher bering on the lower balljoint is a terrible design. Toyota balljoint is Teflon coated and is important to a failure prone part

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Sadly Moog was the go to in suspension parts in the seventies when they moved manufacturing out of the USA .

The quality just kept getting worse.

Then your Lower Ball joints should be Toyota parts.

I changed out my rear drive shaft u joints for moog parts- huge mistake. They failed within a year. Had to do the work twice and switch back to OEM parts.

A friend (with an FJ Cruiser) went the easy route on his LCA bushings and just swapped in a whole new Moog LCA. Bushings are completely toast after two years.

Long story short- You get what you pay for.

Start hitting the BST forums and see if you can source some of the major parts you need, arms, knuckles, etc...

I like the Napa in house premium line for suspension/chassis.....
best bang for the buck .......for a daily driver....

I would be careful of oem counterfeit's......you may be paying a lot of money for pure junk.......
Toyota and lexus parts are pure gold .....to some.......

Reuse as much of your oem stuff as you can, aftermarket doesn’t compare.

new bushings in upper and lower control arms, with new upper and lower ball joints, as well as a new set of shocks will go a long way. If it’s time for tie rod ends, do those too.

555 is a aftermarket parts company. Pretty good, but not as good as oem. I have their lower ball joints on my truck and they’re still tight after 30k miles, we’ll see how long they go.
