What causes the front tires to cup. I think that’s the term... the outside lugs on the front tires are worn on an angle Really strange looking. Just had an alignment and drives straight as an arrow???..

That happens when you don't rotate the tires.

Too much toe in increases wear and feathering on outside edge of tires.

Are you lifted? Could be alignment. What tire and pressure do you run?

To a point that is normal, when you go around a corner the outside edges of the front tires are getting a lot more weight placed on them. Rotating the tires often will help, less aggressive corning helps. During the time those tires are on the rear the wear will even things out.

But if the wear is excessive you could have worn shocks or other suspension parts.

Cupping can occur from not rotating your tires regularly, having a vehicle that is out of alignment, or from poor suspension/hub angles or failing parts.

Not rotating? I haven't bothered to rotate the tires on mine for years and have no cupping.
