Hi all, had my front u-joint go all to hell on me yesterday and since it is in pieces it obviously needs to be replaced. I went to the local parts store who told me that the front u-joint is dealer only. However when I look online at places like RockAuto it seems that all three u-joints are all the same. Anyone know which one it is? I would rather not pay the enormous amount the dealer wants, but I also want to make sure I have the right one. Mine is a 2006 access cab with 4wheel drive. The u-joint is the one right after the transfer case at the very front of the driveshaft.
    Thanks

Ok, I got an answer to the question. Apparently when I went to the local parts store they thought I wanted a "front driveshaft u-joint" when I really wanted a "front u-joint for the rear driveshaft". Rear driveshaft is all normal u-joints. Front shaft apparently is dealer only.

    Thanks for all the advice

front driveshaft uses standard sized u joints as well.... nothing fancy about em... or the rear ones.
