For the last week, I heard grinding noises from the front wheels and took wheels off to check brake but pads were very good.
So yesterday, it got so bad that it was bare metal grinding, stop immediately and saw some grinding into driver side rotor. Took it apart today + found that it was actually the wheel bearing were destroyed and there was also lot of debris (melted plastic+ metal shavings) in the axle cavity behind the wheel hub.
My ABS light came on about the time I start hearing grinding noises, the question I have is to see if I am missing any parts for the ABS or is it only this sensor? there does not seemed to be any damages to the axle or sensor once all the debris were cleaned out.
I'll look for the wheel bearing parts tomorrow, but it will be pain to put it back with damaged ABS area...
    any advise will be appreciated.

That really sucks. I just had both front bearings replaced last week at 138k km (85k miles). Here are some part numbers for original Toyota parts if you need.

    43570-04010 - wheel bearing only - $119
    90316-A0001 - Outer seal - $24
    90312-96001 - Inner seal - $12

43570-04010 was replaced by 43570-04011, same part, different part number as I was told.

The abs sensor sits next to a magnetic tone wheel and thats replaced with the bearing so as lobg as your sensor isnt toast you should be fine.

The way it works is that wheel spins with the bearing/tire and it has a pulse the computer can turn into a speed, so when you lost your bearing you probably screwed the tone wheel as well. If you lose the tone wheel it's gonna throw the ABS off, even if the sensor is fine. That sensor is the little black probe thing that bolts through the housing of the knuckle and rides almost flush against the wheel. Dirt and grease don't affect it. Basically a hall effect sensor.

^^ Maxamillion is correct. The tone wheel is manufactured into the wheel bearing module, is not a stand alone piece, so no problem there. The sensor probe is the only other ABS part there; is held on by a single bolt (10mm wrench size) and is where the black cable runs out of that area. It is replaceable as a separate part but you get to buy the whole cable.

thanks for the info; after reviewing the threads it seems that the front axle is alright + I hope that nothing else got damaged by the wheel bearing breaking apart.

Do you guys think that the passenger side bearing should be replaced too? it was not easy taking this apart.
I still will have to find a shop to disassemble and press the new parts together

How many miles you have on the truck? Was the noise only on the drivers side? Do you drive your truck a lot?

If you are willing to spend the coin for another bearing and seals I'd say yes. Also if you have a decent amount of miles on the truck. Personally for me I'd wait to replace the other side till it goes. For the reason that you almost save no time because it's on the complete other side of the truck. Were as if it was a outer tie rod end, I'd do them both at the same time because you have to get an alignment even for one regardless.

If you driver side bearing is that bad, passenger side is not to far behind it. I would do both sides to make sure they done and you are not troubleshooting your driver side.

for the folks in Arizona, here is a part list :
    from BAP autoparts:
    BEC 051-6140 Wheel hub/ bearing assy $104.99

    from NAPA:
    31897 Outer wheel seal $12.49
only replaced this as mine was damaged.

I had a machine shop take the hub/bearing assembly apart + press the new bearing assembly back in the hub >>> $40
    tutrned the rotor >>> $20

took my 20minutes to mount it back on the truck.
tested on the road, ABS lite is gone off now. truck drive straight but will do an alignment after I replace the driver side.
    My truck has 115k

OEM bearings are KOYO so that's cool.
