If you are going to apply Rainx. Make sure you do it when the windshield is cool to the touch. Applying when it is too hot will give bad results.

And yes simple windex and newspaper. Don't need anything more than that.

^^^ like this guy said. Some windex and crumpled newspaper on glass works better than microfiber cloths.

I've been using rainx for a few years now and ive found for best results you really have to buff it in. I use paper towel or newspaper and change it often as you're wiping. Someone said earlier to do it with a cool windshield and thats best for sure.I keep buffing until I don't see any more swirls.
The haze will go away but it's not a one wipe and done deal like with windex. Takes some time to get it perfect but my windshield stays clean and hydrophobic for about 5 months.

Much better improvement and thanks guys for help and would like more help on getting the remainder of it off. This stuff is only visible during the night under streetlights.

As a former professional detailer, I used this stuff a lot and really like it. Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned, but the film is going to keep coming back pretty often for a while because all you interior parts are "gassing out." It will get to be less and less over time.

Get a white scotchbrite pad (one of your wife's cosmetic pads will do) and either alcohol or
white vinegar. White scotchbrite is very fine and will not scratch glass and the alcohol or
vinegar will dissolve the Rain-X and later road grime. I prefer Stoner's Invisible Glass. Be
aware that the windshields on the 2016 Toyotas are very susceptible to cracking, pitting
    and scratching.

do you use the rain-x spray, or windshield wiper fluid/ new rain-x blades that apply it....I use the blades and washer fluid, and have never had the haze problem...never used the spray though
