Ha! And you nevwr had to get mad about your mpg getting worse, it was always shitty. So, add a lift, bumpers and 35s! Because, who cares!
I still miss mine, but 16 years old, was old enough.

So crazy. I had a 2006 Frontier and beat it like all hell. It was a champ. Over 150K miles on stock clutch. Resale for them is crap. No aftermarket (then) support. ]

Many people NEED a vehicle right away. What is crazier? Buying a Frontier for over MSRP or waiting 6 months for a Tacoma that is manual? Answer--- Both are nuts.

Just sold my 04 Trashfinder. Bought it 6 years ago with 58k on it. Ran flawlessly up until last year. CEL never came on. Just maintenance. Had to replace a bunch of bushings around 160k.. sold it with 173k.

I did look at a Frontier.. dealers around me had few, and what was in stock was sold. They wouldn't let me drive one. So.. that thing went out the door. Good looking truck though. Zero gravity seats are great.

minor, TRD skid plate, front recovery points, Regken mud flaps, rear diff breather, AC drain pipe extended. Upgraded sound with active sub woofer, tonneau cover, CB radio.
My experience - stay away from anything Nissan. Quality unpredictable. My 2014 brand new X Terra Pro4x (which is nice 4x4 vehicle from engineering point, I will say)
in reality was absolute piece of junk, rusting, assembled from leftovers, e.t.c. My first LADA car in 1991 was better, but it was $6000, not $40000.
At the same time all x-terras from 2012 are so good.
Nissan balancing on the edge of bankruptcy, reputation is badly damaged, cars are boring and not selling well...

That's good to hear. I've heard the Frontiers of those years were pretty solid, all things considered. I've read it's because they're an antiquated platform that's barely updated year to year, which to be honest is basically the same criticism we've all heard about Tacomas (and Toyotas generally). All of that constitutes a strength (reliability) as far as I'm concerned, and I gather that's essentially Toyota's business plan. And likewise I think the Patrol looks great. I don't know if I'd buy one myself but it would be cool to see them around.

DFW here, I agree with you.....I see so many Altima pos's with paper tags, missing hubcaps, wrecked, riding on a spare, on their cell-holding it like eating a slice of pizza, and driving like crap.

I will say I had two Nissan trucks a 95 hard body pick up 4cylinder 5 speed/ roll down windows, and a 2010 frontier SE also standard trans. The Hard Body I sold with 110 k miles and the Frontier 175 K both were very good vehicles. Some repairs here and there. Hubs , shocks , struts and axle seals on the Frontier ( which by the way you can change without buying the whole axle kit )But otherwise both ran great and burned zero oil. Both interiors were simple and old school truck like and I was totally ok with that. Less stuff to go wrong. Most of the things in my Tacoma I don’t even use.

I know the 2022 model is different, but 6 months back I bought a brand new Frontier Pro 4 X, and let's just say, I'm here with a brand new Tacoma. They don't make aftermarket parts for the Frontier, literally, nothing, nadda, zero. Hence why I took a huge hit by selling it after 3 months of ownership. And they say the Tacoma is lagging in technology, and design... Ahhhhh, try the Frontier. If you buy one, and are ok without doing anything, 'aftermarket-wise' then you might be ok. Just my $.02.

I won’t deny that. But as stock trucks which I used for work duty, and getting around in the snow and hauling my motorcycle and gear for certain events. They were totally fine for me. I just always liked the Tacoma a little better. Price wise the Nissan truck was more reachable for me because I like to buy new and at the time I had a lot of things going on.

All i can say its far better than the 2020 frontier i test drove and looked over. Imo, nissan made a huge leap on this truck...its not even close to their old one.

Looking over my buddies pro 4x that he recently got, i have to say its a pretty nice truck, and it'll do everything he'll ever need to use it for. It'll probably save him from screwing it up if there's no aftermarket stuff for it, but i'm sure that will change as more are sold. Is the nissan as good as a stock tacoma...time will tell. As for now i'd say it is.

6 weeks wait for a Tacoma? That's nothing. I just ordered an Amish kitchen dining room table and they told me 26 weeks! I was going to pass but mama said she wanted it. What's a man to do??

Before my Tacoma all I’d ever driven was Nissan as my daily driver. Owned a 94 Altima that lasted til over 250k with minimal maintenance then a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4. 317,000 and still own it. Had to replace a fuel pump and all suspension bushings just recently. Have a 2010 Armada that have had zero problems with and it now has over 310,000 miles. Loving my Toyota but nissan makes a damn good vehicle too in my experience

I have another friend that owned a pathfinder...they like the vehicle, but claimed it was a gas hog if towing anything. Then now own a chevy, and wouldn't buy anything else.
