I've owned 3 Tacos and 2 Frontiers. Currently have 2 Tacos, ('10 & '22). I liked the Nissans overall better than the Gen 2 Tacos but the Gen 3 beats both.

The best thing about the Nissan is the motor and trans. They have a lot of torque down low and don't downshift as much as the Tacos on hills. The Gen 3 is much better than the Gen 2. It seems to be learning my driving style and is getting better.

The best thing about the Gen 3 is the interior. It is the most comfortable and spacious small truck I've been in.

Nissan wins in reliability. I put a little over 100k on both of them and only did oil changes. They even had the factory spark plugs in them when I sold them. Both Gen 2 Tacos had failed u-joints, cv axles and front wheel bearings. The additional maintenance of the copper plugs and non sealed u-joints seems like a dumb idea to me .

The only reason I didn't consider a Frontier this time is that it's new model year.

Had a few now that have been completely trouble free after 200k. The Toyota CVT is quite great.

the Prius, LOL. Had an 07 that I treated so bad….outside of warranty I never did anything but change the engine oil….maybe every12-15k and took it to 200k before the batteries finally started going bad. Faithful beast it was, I drove it to the dealership, half running with the dash lit up in every way imaginable and traded it in on a newer model then did it again.

I thought they really bragged about the Maverick rear seat having more room than the Ranger even though its a smaller truck?

That’s not a cvt, it’s an ecvt. Total different beast. No belt, just planetary gears.

I know everyone loves to hate on prius, but the reality is, as a DD it's better than any EV. I would so lift one like that picture if I had one

I think Toyota CVTs use gears instead of belts.

Those only work on the hybrids. I believe the Corolla has a standard cvt.

Which begs the question, on what planet were the Nissan engineers when they designed their cvt? Maybe it was a few newly hired Honda engineers, who brought over the cam timing belt technology. lol

I just placed an order for a new vehicle for the wife, a 2022 Infinity QX60 and the only reason is because they finally did away with the cvt. They stuffed the 9spd titan trans in the QX60 to go with the bullet proof 3.5. should work well. looks great to

I’m 6’ tall and it seemed very tight and uncomfortable to me. It would probably be fine for kids or smaller people. Overall, it’s a cool truck but not even close to our Tacomas.

Whatever it uses its reliable and work fine. We've got over 100k on our prius and it still performs as new....well the shocks are still original, and need to go...their toast.

2001 Nissan Xterra father bought it at 20k miles, i bought it from him at 140k miles i traded it in at 236k miles .. im sure it had a head gasket issue when trading it in.... i actually stopped before i got to the dealership to let it cool down before trading it in.... then bargained for an extra $500 for a total of $2500 trade in.

It was a cheap reliable vehicle that was solidly built. I dont think nissan is the same company they were 20 years ago.

Ford has proven this Escape platform to be versatile. This "Escape" is more like the discontinued Focus, the Bronco Sport has taken the place of the Escape, and Ford has added the pick up everyone is talking about, the Ford Maverick. I wouldn't be surprised to see the next generation Transit Connect sharing the same platform.
