    Finally done with switch.

    Close up
    B424A004-7DC5-4B36-A5F4-AA82F846CCB1.jpg

Switch off (rest of dash is on, the ATRAC switch is just less bright)
    91FF9AAF-1EE9-49E9-A830-25BAC253CA55.jpg

Switch On = airbag on and upper LED lit
    AFE2EF0F-9BE7-4DC9-8380-62BB8CF9B42D.jpg

And my overall opinion of the AOB switch. No solid click like OEM which I half expected, but mines not sticking so that’s good. The lighting also sucks. the first couple letters of “airbag” sit off to the side of one of the internal supports so they are only half lit. Didn’t feel like it was worth it to fix that. Owell, overall happy with it.

Thanks for sharing your results. Looks real good. What did you use to depin the wires? Also do the new seats sit lower or same height as the OEM.

My wife initially thought it was going to be an uncomfortable seat but she accompanied me on the 8-9 hr trip I went on, there and back so 16-18 hrs total and she had no complaints and actually felt more supported. I’ll take that as a win.

I carefully cut the OEM FRS connector to pieces with wire snips since I wouldn’t be using it anyway, until I could safely get the pin retainer piece pulled out (white colored piece) then used a tiny jewelry type screwdriver tip to flip up the pin release tabs and pull out the pins.

Tacoma OEM connector is way easier. White retainer piece has an actual tab so you can use needle nose pliers to pull out then same method with jewelry screwdriver to flip the pin retainers and pull pins out. Then just reverse the process to slide the FRS pins into Tacoma connector (make sure +/- wires are in correct slots, I can’t remember if they were reversed or not). Wires are denoted by Yellow and a Yellow/black stripe. Just need to match them up so they slide into OEM connector that comes out of the carpet correctly.

The seats do sit lower with the Planted brackets. I had pics of measurements at some point. And of course you can manually increase the driver side seat height. When you do that it actually sort of tilts the sit forward a bit as it raises only the rear of the seat for the most part. But it’s real comfortable to me.

Passenger seat does not have height adjustment.

    @alvinfromhawaii

See post #31 in this thread for my measurement pic.

Seat sits roughly 2” lower than stock at lowest setting.

Thanks. How high can the FRS seat go? Back to OEM height or above?

Maybe a half inch above OEM at the most measured at the rear most part of the seat.

Go for it, I’d recommend sitting in the seat if possible first just to make sure.

I love them but that’s my opinion

I have a question is the passenger seat the only one that needs the bypass or do both seats need it

The driver seat doesn't have an occupancy sensor because its assumed the driver is in the seat

Corbeau makes seats and rails that will fit. I think all you need is to find rails and then the seats to rail is fairly standard.

What a great mod - I'm thinking that if you go with the BR-Z Limited seats, you'd get the added benefit of built in seat heaters, then could utilize factory heated seat switches for a nice, tidy install!

I thought much the same but I read over on ft86club that the guys who installed BRZ seats in their FRS were throwing airbag codes on the dash. I can only assume it might be the same issue if they were put in a Tacoma. Which is a bummer cause honestly the upholstery on the BRZ looks way better imo.

Didn't think to ask before/missed it if you already mentioned it - what's the toggle switch on the left and where'd you pick it up?

It’s a momentary SPDT Morris toggle switch mounted in one of these:

    https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/172087509622

It controls my rear slider. So I flip it right to open and left to close.
