I'm considering this for my 2016 because I am toying with the idea of Rallycross, and I'm a... vertically ample kinda guy such that I worry my head would be rubbing against the roof with a helmet.

Really cool that it seems like that my 3rd gen might be a sort of plug and play affair w/ no occupant sensor bypass.

Did the FRS sliders bolt right into the Planted brackets or did you need to drill additional holes?

Off the top of my head i think I added a couple holes for each seat, and ended up using maybe 2 that were pre drilled to keep mounting uniform between the 2

Do the 1st Gens have seat airbags? If not then that gets rid of the hardest part.

No airbags in the seats or anything. Mine has the bench 60/40 and want to swap it to buckets and console. The idea is to redo my interior and lower the truck. No airbags only the steering wheel and dash airbag.

Got any decent scrap yards near you? If you get lucky you can grab the FR-S seats at one of those places and at least save money on the shipping.

By god I wished. We have a scrap yard but they won’t sell parts off the vehicles anymore. They quit because of “insurance reasons”. I’ll just keep my eyes peeled on the local classifieds. About to order some Kuhmo ecsta tires in a 225/45/17 so I can throw my 2” lowering blocks under then do some carbon fiber touches around the truck.

If you’re still looking to do this, I may have a set or two. Waiting on an answer from a buddy to see if that’s accurate or not lol
(I’m in Florida, you’re in Georgia, I’m sure we could figure out a way to get them to you)

Hey bringing this thread back hopefully‼️
Per Apple the above Yarisworld link is not Legit. So then I go to the site to register and I get an error message. Maybe it’s Apple over reacting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really have just one question for NOW. You showed a photo at the start of the Surgery but all I could tell was it looked like the “feet” on the slider were removed or moved? If removed where they replaced with the Tacoma “feet”? I hope what I’m asking makes sense?

Kind of want to know what I need for parts before I purchased and dig in? Because as I figured with just the passage seat wiring harness and just two seats I’m pushing over $700. All the seats I find are on the East Coast so there’s the added shipping.

OP, if you could in lighten me more I would really appreciate it‼️

Thanks for any and all advice...

My iPhone is giving me the same issue. Maybe just try yarisworld in google and open it that way. My phone didn’t give me any issues doing that. Not sure about registration. The user’s name is CTScott.

So what you do is drill out the rivets of all four mouting feet on the FRS seat. What you are left with are holes to use as bolt points to attach to the Planted brackets. I think I used an existing set of holes on the planted brackets for the rear bolt points and drilled 2 in front. I don’t perfectly recall as it’s been a while and I’ve since sold my truck and another member now has the seats.

yes a driver and passenger planted bracket. If I recall the slider to slider distance is not equal and they don’t attach the same. If you or someone you know can weld it may be doable that way but idk.

SERIOUSLY thanks guys I do appreciate the all help!

    Update!
CTScott is MIA & the 4x4 shop that sells the passenger airbag weight sensor is NOT selling the part anymore!
The air bag system will only operate with the “Bypass”‼️

Just an FYI this jack @$$ “boogie3478 / Tacomaholic” is now in possession of these seats! I found a gentleman that said if he could see the “Bypass” he could copy it. But this jack @$$ will NOT let the “Bypass” be coped‼️ Please ladies & gentlemen do not support this jack @$$ on his YouTube channel‼️ He doesn’t really give a $h!t about helping other Tacoma owners all he wants is to sell his Crap to put money in his pocket‼️ If he doesn’t make or sell the “Bypass” he is not responsible… He talks a big talk but he’s really a spineless lowlife! Plus he’s nowhere near being mechanically inclined… I love to see him try just to change the third member. Plus if you do watch his stupid videos you never see him do anything technical. That’s because I don’t think he can. I installed StopTech’s on my Tacoma, they went on so easy that I had to stop to look at the instructions because I though I must be doing something wrong, aftermarket parts never fit this easy. I bet anyone that he can’t install a set of these brakes. Can he even change his own oil? Sorry but I can’t stand watch him act stupid so I can’t watch his video’s to the end…
