In need of some help. I installed the belstein 5100 struts on my 2016 Tacoma TRD OR. The passenger side was easy and took about 45 min. Everything worked. Then did the driver side. Came apart even faster then the passenger side. Went to install the 5100 on it with the original coils/springs. It wouldn't go. After hours of trying and thinking of new ideas and what not, I gave in. Took my struts and coils/springs to a shop to have them put it together for me and I would install it. The shop had a difficult time compressing the springs enough to get them in the strut and all. Once the were able to do that they couldn't get the compressor teeth part out of the springs because they were so compressed. I have the bilsteins set at the 4th notch a 1.55" lift. It can go to 5 which is a 2" lift but I decided to go down just one and I still have this issue. Anyone else ever have this issue or know what the hell I'm doing wrong or how to fix this? Having some beers now, I'm so frustrated. I basically did the OME coil installation on YouTube incase you were wondering what or how I did it. Any help would be appreciated. Picture is the passenger side all together.

Is the lower spring perch installed in the correct direction? Same on both sides?

Haha glad you got it fixed. Don't feel like an idiot. I swear it happens like once a week. The design of it really makes it look like it can work either way.

I did mine upside down the first time too. Installed the buckets like factory. No lift. Turns out they were supposed to be flipped. Oops.

Part that frustrates me the most, the passenger side (first one I did) wasn't upside down it was good. Second one, I just went too fast and didn't pay attention I guess. Glad you guys said something in here or I'd still be pissed off lol. But yeah it all came up to 37" from ground to the fender. Was at 35" so I got 2". Truck is sitting at 37" all around besides the driver rear. Needs a spacer back there now. Never ends.
