    Shrug.
He's probably just running his suck to try and :stirthepot:

"My truck's only 2 years old, so of course my frame is still like new. However, yours is almost 10 years old, so clearly you haven't been maintaining it and that's why it rusted out"

    ^^^this

frames were not coated correctly, dana forced to pay up, all frames now made by different company (Metalsa), toyota is replacing the really bad ones for free, plus extra components that tie to frame and are usually burned off or ground off in order to lift body and engine off original frame

when you get it back the thing is going to drive like new again

Oh F me, everybody stand back we have a genius in our presence.....

Listen you will have better luck spraying your D..k to prevent passing genes than using silicone to prevent rust on Tacoma frame....

Hit the indoor car wash? You obviously dont realize not everybody live next to car wash and if you have to drive couple miles wet truck will collect more salt than it had before washing. Not to mention you have not payed attention in chemistry class so you dont know that dry salt does not conduct electric current. Add little water and rust process runs like champ.
Never mind all that, name me a car wash that cleans inside the frame

I say next time you want to have intercourse spray that thing with silicon

    ....

    yeah.

I have a 99 4runner I NEVER wash and it is a Maine/Mass vehicle therefore all the salt in the world has hit it.... I have had since 1998. Literally, never washed.

and under it (the hitch has completely rotted I can say that) the frame and pumpkin does have rust, and it is clear it won't last forever, but it is not rusted through yet. has some time left in it

compare this to newer tacos than my 4runner that have rust-through...it is clearly just a bad factory frame prep process and not much an owner can do about it other than ziebart the crap out of it when first purchased, or roll through an old-skool (now illegal) backwoods garage oil spray system every 6 months like old loggers used to do....

My '69 has that; they used to oil everything down with Bar & Chain oil (stickier than motor oil) and drive it down a dirt road on a dry day. The dust bonded with the oil for a waterproof seal. Worked, too. Not great for the environment, though...

But, my grandfather used to pour the used motor oil from his oil changes on the driveway 'to keep the weeds down' when I was a kid.

Back to the OP's complaint, if it makes you feel any better im in the same boat. I got a rental car, but boating season is upon us and there is no way for them to get me a rental truck. Ive called multiple times.

So now i am contemplating taking my truck back till the parts come in, but then if my frame cracks or something like that then i am F**ked and Yota wont help me at all. They got us stuck between a rock and a hard place

I think a lot of us will be in the same boat... I have to clean my truck and go for inspection.... I was hoping they can take care of my frame in a month but now I am wondering if thats possible. So is the long wait time is for Reg Cabs/Access Cabs/Double Cabs / all?
One thing for sure I better be getting some truck as rental, its spring so I need to do work around the house, can't pull things with Corolla, payload may be the same as Tacoma but the lack of Class IV hitch is what the problem is.
If that drags into next winter I am going to be utterly screwed. There is no way to get to my place in 2wd.

It seems like a lot of factors. I'm sure each dealers backlog of trucks is different from place to place. I know the wiring harnesses have been on backorder, as well as the new leaf springs not being ready yet. A lot of dealers have been re-using the old wiring harnesses, and installing the current TSB leaf packs just to get through the backlog. The frames generally have been taking 6-8 weeks to arrive at the dealer. Depending on the dealer, and how bad your frame is, you may be able to get it checked out, (if the frame does need to be replaced) and still drive your truck until it's time to bring it in.

I went there for one of my 'free' oil changes.. The place was great, very professional, the indoor cafe/grill was awesome (free sandwich ticket with your oil change).

I got the truck back, got in and started it up..... and BAM!.... Latino music was at concert volume on the radio, presumably from the service kid who parked it for pick up. 10 years ago I would have been bullshit and complained to the GM, but I just chuckled.

Acton Toyota is a good place to go though. :)
