Frustrated with Bulb Removal

Hey Guys,
I'm in the process of replacing a blown bulb (74) that lights the ring around the cigarette lighter. Is there a trick to removing?? I took a pair of pliers and wrapped the ends in electrical tape, but I'm afraid I'm going to pop the bulb.
2003 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner 3.4

Any Suggestions???

 

Are you sure the bulb actually comes out? Some of those small bulbs like that with the base come as one piece.

 

I didn't think of that. I would have thought it was replaceable but maybe not. I looked on the underside to see if maybe the bulb wires wrapped around, but they do not.
Maybe one of the guys on here that have replaced with LED bulbs will respond.

Just replaced mine a few days ago. I don't belive you can replace the bulb by itself unless you like to solder... I bought a replacment assembly online for a few $ and just swapped it out.

I have been looking for a part number or bulb. I have not had luck. Do you have a Item number or part number for the replacement?
