After 4 years and over 3200 pairs sold I have stopped making these. Thank you for the business. Thank you China for copying and selling my design as well as every other American designed and made style of seat spacers.

 

This is in response to some messages I received.
I appreciate every sale I have made over the last 4 years. I am humbled by the numbers of positive feedback on eBay and positive posts in FaceBook groups. I may evaluate things again in the fall. For years there were a handful of us manufacturing, and selling, in the USA. Speaking for myself (and others like DesertDoesIt) the Chinese have really swamped the market with cheap knockoff versions of identical spacers killing my very modest profits. My final sale prices were 21% lower than they were the 1st 3 years to be competitive with the Chinese although costs, fees and shipping are up 25%. At one time there were roughly 5 to 8 sellers on eBay. Today there are 200 ads for Tacoma/FJ Cruiser seat spacers on 1 eBay page and, out of the 1st 120 ads 117 are Chinese, 2 USA and 1 Lithuania. Nearly all are Chinese sellers that advertise "ships from USA" or "USA stock". If you click on their username, then click ABOUT, it tells you "based in China". In todays economy I don't blame anyone for trying to save a buck. As a retired hobbyist I enjoy the work and I have excellent equipment that I paid cash for. I live off of my retirement checks. This was extra "mad money" for me. The bottom line is that I could make more money working 12 hours a week at McDonalds than I now make off my spacers. Add on the PayPal and eBay fees, Priority shipping costs and income taxes, it is clear that this product has become unprofitable for this one man operation. I will go back to making a few 3rd gen license plate brackets and am toying with something else for Toyota trucks. I am always going to make something. Maybe some things to sell and maybe just some things for myself. Thanks again everyone. A special thanks to 2 chiropractors that were customers as well as influencers for additional sales. Ah man that's rough, it always sucks when markets are taken over by cheap knock offs. I'd always prefer to purchase a genuine product. Well, I hope things go well with your future creations.
