As I am going to be installing mine when I return home, can you specify what was a pain or challenge? Thanks!

Installed mine today. Thanks for the milk crate idea. Made the install very easy. All you have to do is follow Matt’s instructions.

Those god given bolts wouldn't line up to the mounting points and I hated how I had to have both the spacers inside of the plate before I started putting a bolt on or else the other one on either side wouldn't fit after the fact you threaded them through.

Looks great guys!!!! I understand it can be a bit of a pain but it is pretty straight forward. Once you do it a few times you get pretty good at it ha.

I had no problem at all installing mine. You just need to be patient.

I am having issues getting it straight or level in the front. It appears I may have the back bolts too tight but am not sure. The engine cover has a different shape on the passenger side than on the drivers side. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fixing this? Thanks

Stock versus this one is a little different, it doesn't seem to have any support on the more upper end of it like the stock one does. If anyone wants to see what I'm talking about just search TRD skid plate Tacoma on google and you'll see they have some support beams on the upper end of it getting closer to the bumper, where as this one lacks that.

Thanks to Matt for his quick response and excellent customer service.

Did not notice that the spacers were specific to D (drivers side) and P (passenger side). Went back and it looks better and essentially even. My gap is about 1 inch from the lower grey fascia. Is that how much gap there should be? Love this forum!! :)

Sorry for the terrible pic, losing light. Will get something better up tomorrow.

Some better pics of the gap. Matt has given me a few suggestions, so may try to adjust next weekend. Done for today. ;)

Thats what they look like even in the aluminum OE form, you want some gap so it doesn't hit the plastic of the bumper, leave it be batchelor.
