The physical skid plate has held up beautifully, not a single bend or dent, and I'm pretty sure I have bottomed out and rode on it a couple times across dips in mud and stuff while offroading.

That being said, the powder coating has not held up at all. :/ it still looks pretty good, but as you work your way further down the bottom, you can definitely see where the powder coat basically rubbed off.

Matt, have you found a stronger mounting solution so far as far as bolts and the (aluminum were they?) spacers are concerned?

I still would like to start making them. I'm just having trouble setting up some design time.

Glad to hear its holding up to the beating. Seems like your having a lot of fun with your truck.

The powder coat may not be the best. Although, you can't expect it to be with out blemish when your using it for what its intended for. After all, it is a skid plate. I hear what your saying though, and that sucks.

As for the way it's mounted, I don't feel like there is any major issues. I haven't had any complaints about it nor have I heard about anyone sheering bolts. I suppose if you want to spread out the weight of an impact you could get thicker spacers for your self. Personally, I am happy with the way they're mounted and won't be making changes.

I was thinking about maybe spraying bed liner professionally on it, a nice thick coat that way it holds up more to offroad beatings. As far as the spacers and bolts go, I just mentioned it because I remembered you mentioning possibly exploring other solutions or stronger mounting hardware then what you already provided. I was just curious is all. I am fairly confident it should hold the weight myself, though I just figured I'd ask :)

So far this has been a fantastic piece of armor!

The bed liner might be a good idea. It's always nice to have things perfect. Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words. :D

Yeah especially so when the armor doubles as an appearance piece as well. Hey I'm just giving credit where credit is due. Keep up the good work. These members who own the piece of armor love you for this, myself included!

Yeah the Bedliner should be fairly resistant to impact and scuffing as well, all the while looking nice, as well as rugged with it's somewhat texture finish.

Just got my skid plate installed. Has anyone installed one of these on any off road bumpers? Mine has a 3" gap in between looks kind of lame... Got any ideas?it's like I just went back to stock approach angels. I was never thought that the bumper was a major Issue:(

    Would using smaller spacers help?

I think it's more of a larger piece than I was thinking... If it took the place of the original engine guard it would be all good.

Here is a different pic! It's the fact that you need to offer a after market bumper skid... I looked at pic of other bumpers I could find all like mine using your skid over laps the upper section of your skid. Making it look just odd in all. Don't get me wrong this thing would be supper bad ass if I had a stock bumper. But I don't! I am the first one to install you heavy duty skid on a off road bumper? Wow! From the second I pulled it out of the box I was how the f... Was this thing going to fit on my truck? And then it went on like this

It almost looks like you could run it with out spacers? I think if you were to trim the spacers down it should be a lot better. You can try stacking washers to see how much of a spacer you need. Then If you can get your hands on a grinder just trim them down to that size. Or if you give me the size i can ship you some.
