    In my haste to get a picture up of my skid, I completely forgot to mention how much I love it! The quality is fantastic. The install was easy. The longer bolts were a byproduct of my lift and had nothing to do with the skid. I am very grateful that such a simple solution was all it took to get this skid mounted. If I had a second Tacoma I would order one for that truck. Are there any plans to make skids for 1st Gens or even a 1991 Toyota Pickup? I am toying with the idea of finding another 91 to 94 pickup and restoring it.

    The skid mounts to the frame (or subframe). A lift only changes geometry of the suspension. I fail to see how the lift necessitated longer bolts? I'm lifted about 5" & nothing about my frame changed other than its distance from terra firma. Not even a body lift would cause this. I'm just confused AF right now.

    Edit: the description of your lift indicates it has a diff drop, that explains it :cheers:

    oil change...
    Do you have to mount this to the factory skid or can this be mounted without the black factory skid? Just bought a used taco and there currently isn't any engine protection at all
